We have to park next to an infant school to go to swimming lessons.

As we walked past the entrance DD3, waved very mucky hands at me and told me she needed to wash her hand as they were filthly. I asked her where she got the blackness on her hands from and she didn't know.

I looked around a bit, expecting to find a dirty car with "Clean Me" inscribed on it, but instead saw signs informing us of anti-climb paint!! AAArgh.

By this time, its all over her new school fleece (yup, first wear today).

I'm guessing it won't wash out, it's currently in the superfandango 3hour washso fingers crossed, but if not it's £18.50 down the drain.

That they use anti climb paint to prevent climbing and you let your child climb? Um...eh?

I may have dreamt this but I'm sure there are rules about anti climb paint having to be a certain height, if it's not on private property?

I mean so you can't accidentally lean on it/touch it.

It does seem a bit of an odd way to prevent climbing at an infant school!

I wouldn't complain, but only because the best solution you could hope for would involve them reimbursing you for the fleece, and that would mean taking money out of the school budget.

Typically it is applied from a height of 8 ft / 2,4 metres above the ground. It is the responsibility of the user to check his local legislation and regulations regarding the use of this paint

people do break into infant schools and vandalize them, so perhaps it is to prevent that

The fence was approx 7feet high, and I'd say that it was over the top 6 inches of it.

How did she get it on herself then? Surely she didn't climb to within the top six inches of a 7ft fence?

She didn't climb, but obviously someone had been and then rubbed their hands on a yellow bollardy thing that she'd tried to leapfrog.

I think my complaint would be along the lines of "yeah, good idea, and I understand, but it's too moveable".

It's hardly the school's fault that your child leapfrogged a bollard?

That's like complaining to a bakers shop because your child got cream on her hands due to touching a lamp post after someone bought an eclair and wiped it on there.

I don't think the council cleaning team get paid enough to clean paint from anyone's bollocks.
