I really like the idea about trying to use an alternative remote control through the window. DO you know what TV they have? I have about 3 different types of remote you could try out.

When we moved into our first house we had a shower but no bath plug so we had to use the shower. We had been merrily having showers for about a week when we got a note popped through the door which said

'Your bathroom window is not opaque. We can see you in the shower.'

The lady that sent it is now one of my best friends and we still laugh about it now, but I was at the time!
