Does anyone actually go in there and come out alive?

Professor McGonagall would shop in EWM, and she's cool, so shut up.

Humourme · 24/08/2011 22:51

Ohhhhh... I have a bright suit from EWM and a purple skirt.

I bought them 3 years ago when I was 43.

It's all over. I am officially old. I'm going to start ordering from the Sunday supplements now.

Agree with thefirstmrsrochester - heather is beige for us pasty northern types wot look half dead in beige, itself. I only look a quarter dead in heather.

We were trying to find kilt socks in Bath the other week (a slight case of washing machine malfunction on DH's normal pair and a wedding to go to) So I said no problem we'll nip into EWM in Bath on Friday and pick some up, simple, no problem, not the end of the world. Famous last words. They don't do kilt socks or anything vaguely kilt like. Cue us frantically rnning round Bath for a couple of hours trying to track down kilt socks.

In the end I rang the little bridal shop in the little town where we live. What size would you like? came the reply. So we dashed back and bought some.

No kilt socks in the EWM I ask you...

(Bites down on some wool just to raise the hysteria level.)

MrsBuntyCuldeSacPariah2 · 24/08/2011 23:16

Eeekkk to the wool biting, Shoutmomma! TrillianAstra, shopping does traumatise me actually. Just passing the likes of EWM tips me over the edge. It's just not right. It's very Royston Vasey.

I once had a nightmare about being trapped in an Edinburgh Woollen Mill type shop..... I was working on the High Street at the time, so I feel it was entirely understandable.

Jenners has been taken over by Frasers!

Xiaoxiong · 25/08/2011 11:06

DH loves it. He is a young fogey though. I wait for him outside and read the paper.

Where my Mum lives EWM is the height of fashion. I have found myself walking around fisherman's supplies shops in desperation. A pair of bright yellow waders and a sou'wester seemed a nicer option.

[sighs]

I hate to see the EWM sign, as having read the fertility boards on another website I used to be on, all I can think of when I see it is Egg White Mucus. Ick.

Seriously guys, I bought a lovely matching skirt and blouse combo (floaty sky blue with embroidered detail) which I wear with a white square-neck T and a long blue necklace. It looks nice Biscuit
