Denim shirt plus flowery granny cardie? On what planet is that not a crime of fashion?

Oh I totally disagree - I think they'd be bound to have terrible IBS and the most obvious wind issues imaginable... really, I know this from experience!

Wabbit · 23/08/2011 01:59

disclaimer - not MY experience - not me - really not me!

MrsRhettButler · 23/08/2011 01:59

Pmsl I can see you now, kicking through the leaves in the park....
Watch out for the dog mess... Oh too late Grin

CheerfulYank · 23/08/2011 02:39

I like the tartan baggies for little boys. :)

Most of the men's stuff would not fly in the US market.

The Mamas and Papas link keeps switching me to the US site and so I can't see the oddly-attired children. Hmph! Angry

MrsRhettButler · 23/08/2011 04:45

Does it not give you the option to view uk pages yank? My iPad automatically takes me to US sites but I have an option to view pages from the uk.

Of course this may be because I am IN the uk.....

SpeedyGonzalez · 23/08/2011 23:11

OMG Rhett and spiders, my eyes, MY EYES!!!! WTF have you two done to my thread? You go to far! TOO far!

I think I've ordered that cardi and I think it's really going to be me [embarassed]. But I am middle aged, middle class and and of a fashion genre that you lot hate. Funny though, that very often the people I know (may be not the people you know) say "you look lovely, married". xx

SpeedyGonzalez · 23/08/2011 23:38

married, I shall let you off...as long as you haven't bought that hideous M&P braces outfit (complete with bird and bowtie)! Grin

OP posts:
marriedinwhite · 23/08/2011 23:45

No! No birds or bowties here - and DH gave up braces when "Wall Stree" and Bonfire of the Vanities became old hat - although nowadays it might be said that he could do with them Grin. I do NOT though let him wear RED cords or moleskin trousers - the line has to be drawn somewhere.

MrsRhettButler · 23/08/2011 23:47

yes but married, you aren't going to wear it with that denim shirt underneath are you?

marriedinwhite · 23/08/2011 23:55

No. I will probably wear it buttoned quite low with a cami or tee-shirt underneath and over a short(ish) skirt or jeans. Where is this ad' anyway?

RufusTFirefly · 24/08/2011 11:33

I now can't see the ad, so can't link - but was overcome with nausea at the sight of a wilted-cabbage-green hoodie (hoodie? Hoodie???) with dinky matching socks and - a mauvish pair of trousers infested with white polka dots all over them. Anyone wearing that outside should not be surprised if people point and laugh at her in the street.

My former boss (Queen Bitch) wore lots of Boden, including appliqued skirts (the horror!) and when I said I shopped with La Redoute, looked down her nose and sneered "never heard of them". I like La Redoute. Plenty of choice; something for all pockets, good cut and fabric choice and I've never had any trouble with delivery or returns in the thirteen years I have been shopping with them. So there!

RufusTFirefly · 24/08/2011 11:41

This had to be done - bypassed ad and went to "Johnny's" (how old is he?) site direct.

I give you - clownwear 2011!

Eye bleedingly awful

Blurb says you can wear it as you "boing" along the beach. Springs in the socks, perhaps?

MrsRhettButler · 24/08/2011 11:44

No, that's pyjamas surely?

porcamiseria · 24/08/2011 11:48

what annoys me is style and beauty

EVERY TIME I GO ON THERE ARE AT LEAST 3 BODEN THREADS

ugh ugh ugh ugh UGH

I dont like Boden, can you tell.

stripeybump · 24/08/2011 11:57

Didn't Johnnie say his clothes were for mums who didn't want to look sexy?

In that sense I'd say he's succeeded Grin

strictlovingmum · 24/08/2011 12:05

Nothing sexy about Aline skirt, floral cardi, floral shirt, and rest of the Boden tat,
yuk, yuk,
I'd say he's succeeded, and by the way for the same money go and dress somewhere else to flatter yourself and your shape, not to frumpen yourself.Grin

Shutupanddrive · 24/08/2011 12:27

RufusTFirefly · 24/08/2011 12:41

Nope, not pyjamas (unless folks in BodenLand boing along the out of season beach in them!). Bloody vile, whatever they are.

msbuggywinkle · 24/08/2011 12:43

The cardigan. My DD2 think it is lovely. She is 2 and a bit. I think that says it all.

Popbiscuit · 24/08/2011 12:52

They must be pyjamas? Who would wear polka-dot trousers?

MrsBuntyCuldeSacPariah2 · 24/08/2011 13:08

YANBU.

Ode to Boden
Oh Boden, your catalogue makes me yawn,
But I'm sure for some you are middle class clothes porn,
I see the Boden uniform brigade at the school gate each day
Overpriced, underwhelming in every way.

Boden tries to be just a little bit quirky for those
Lacking imagination to be creative with their clothes
But Boden, Boden, you bore me like tweed
For the price of your t-shirts my whole family I could feed

For a month.
