Costco is great, really good for meat and fish and man, their cakes are to die for!
You'll need to be in business though to get membership (although I work for a national retail chain and that counts) - I think it costs about £30 a year? Sometimes they have free joining offers on, just ask.
If you have one that does tyres as well, that's well worth it for saving cash on car costs.

You don't need to be in business but you do need to work for certain companies to get a card.

I love costco, they do huge packs of meat & we stock up once a month on them & i freeze them.
The washing powders are good value too,the cakes are gorgeous & the Christmas things are excellent.
I got all my Easter eggs from there, thorntons ones too & they were about £8 for 3.

My friend has membership because she works for a local authority. I don't think they're nearly as strict as Macro.

Worth it for the bin liners alone. I love them. A roll of 90 strong ones for about £7 when there's an offer on. I bulk buy meat, sausages, catering tubs of marmite, lovely strudel at the moment , huge tubs of grapes etc etc.

Might wander over today...

And cheese, great big long packs of cheddar which we get through like rationing is imminent!

ThePosieParker · 20/08/2011 09:22

I bought dd a DS lite with a game for £54!

Wine can be quite cheap too. Echo Falls White Zinfandel £24 for 6 bottles.

Birthday cakes are fantastic, we have had several which have all been great (very sweet as they use american frosting rather than normal icing but really good)

I just love it. It is like a day out for me (sad but true!)

LordOfTheFlies · 21/08/2011 00:02

I bought a box of sparkling white wine ( 6 bottles) for my DC teachers gifts. Put in a nice bag, lovely gift.
Had to google when I got home and found it retailed for £8+ a bottle but I paid £24 + VAT for 6.

Can I ask a question??

Are the tyres cheaper. Is it worth going there for tyres?
And do they stock a good range of sizes? TIA

The other reason it's good is the guarantee. 3 years on electrical goods. I've had a car phone speaker thing and a food mixer break after 2 years - replaced for new no quibbles.
Sweeties and chocs are good. I remember the good old days (don't get me started on this again) when they sold 48 pack boxes of Wispa Gold. Mmmm. 3 boxes in 3 months I got through.
I also bought (don't like to admit this in public as I hate them now) a pair of Birkenstocks in there once. Amazing too for random things like swings and hammocks. Oh, and giant flashing Father Christmases.

We go for nappies and washing liquid/fabric conditioner.
