to send dh to Legoland with DD1, while I look after dd2 at home?

We planned a family trip to Legoland next Sunday and used our cc vouchers to purchase two special offer tickets and we were going to use a half price voucher for dd1's entry (she's 3) so would cost £16.

However after reading a thread which talked of long queues I am now thinking maybe I should stay at home with dd2 (8 months) She will get nothing from the trip anyway, dh and dd1 culd use the tickets and instead of spending money on another ticket they could buy Q bot (for £30) and effectively only spend an extra £14 on the day.

AIBU not to join the long queues on a possibly hot day to waste money on a ticket for me and give dh and dd a better day by hvaing a Q Bot?

Gates open into the park at 10 am, but they'll let you into the waiting area at 9:30, (it has cafe, loos, shop, viewing area and and exhibition so not too dull) so I'd aim to get there at 9:15 tbh, it really does make all the difference.

YANBU - i'm sure DD1 will have an amazing time with her Daddy, sometimes I think its nice for them to have a 'bonding day'!!!

I sent DS of to London with his Dad when DD was 9 months, he wanted to go to the natural history museum - they had a brilliant time, the only prob was I was a bit jealous of the one on one time they had!!

our 3 year old loved it. take a swimming costume and towel. will she pass the first height restriction?

I took my 4 year old and 2 year old on saturday.

They absolutley adored it, although i dont think 1 day is really long enough to 'do it all'.

My 2 year old got on loads of rides at 0.95cm.

And agree with PP, take a swimming costume and towel, the water park area is amazing. I made my two go in in their pants as we werent prepared.

Hookaduck, not sure what your friend meant. You can obviously just queue up as normal to get on Atlantis (if you get there early there will hopefully be no queue). If you buy a qbot, Atlantis is not included as standard - you have to pay an extra £3 per person to use a qbot for it. Same for the boating school which always seems to have the most horrendous queue regardless of time of day, term/holiday time or weather!

There can be queues to get in. Like pp said, if you live nearby I suggest you arrive at 9:15.

My two love the puppet shows in Duplo land and they are not too horrific to sit through for adults either (well not the first three times anyway... Grin). Would advise you get there at least 10-15min before show time though as the theatre gets full very quickly at busy times.

Even I love Miniland (where all the lego models of Big Ben etc are) and there are no queues there!!

Oh, should have said that dh took ds on his own a few times when dd was tiny, and they always had a great time and so did I.
