Mum gets 6 months for wearing shorts from her flat mate who looted.

story here

So her kids have no mum for 6 months for wearing stolen goods. Bad idea, big mistake, give her community service...

but after years of working in domestic violence in which men (and women) have got less for beating the shit out of their partners, where repeat burglars don't get sent down etc etc, I think this is mental.

They knew what they were doing i.e. handling stolen goods. It is a crime and who knows what they will get, that is up to the Courts. Being a mother should not be seen as an excuse (or worse, an opportunity to get away with it).

A child is not and should not be a get out of jail free card..........

of course its over the top, its rediculous. they are throwing the book at them to win people over.

luckily we have many many clever people who can see that for people to behave properly that message needs to come from the top first rather than the bottom. If the MPs,Bankers,Army and Police can do what the hell they like and get away with because they are protected or they can resign before they are held accountable, they can kill over seas without fear or riprisals as they are doing it under the control and request of someone else (another examply of the removal of blame we see in every part of our society or they are too important as they are "masters of the universe" then who can blame the lower levels of society working in this way? not me, they are imitating what they see from the MOST influential and powerful people.

i have a sore throat, that is all.
