I'm knacjeeed - 5.30 am start courtesy of dd2, 3.5 mile run, full day at a theme park with the dc and now I'm off into town for a piss up with the girls. Necked two nurofen and a dr peppers before I left the house, whAt booze can I drink to perk me up? Nothing with red bull please!!

Lidl's currently selling a litre bottle of 'Jeeves' which is not dissimilar to Pimms for £5.99. Make up a jug with ice, lemonade, fresh mint and fresh orange/lemon/lime slices, plus a few strawberries if you have them. Perfect for summer afternoons/evenings.

Oh, how to narrow it down...my current favourite is a white wine spritzer, topped up with St. Germain elderflower liquer (from Waitrose) and lots of ice. Very nice on a hot day.

Wouldn't be any use in a pub, but for a treat at home I make a 'White Lady' - 1 measure each of gin, cointreau, lemon juice, soda water, plus 1/2 measure sugar syrup (or just 2 tsp sugar) - in a cocktail shaker with loads of ice. Yum. Saves a shit day.
