DD (age 9mo) is starving and crying in my ear as we speak while the lava-like dinner refuses to cool.

Would it be much, much too insane to whip out the hairdryer and blast it on the cold setting at full power?

Stir and blow, stir and blow Grin

Wouldn't a hairdryer spray it round the room?

Tee2072 · 12/08/2011 21:46

Freezer?

RoseC · 12/08/2011 21:47

Shove it in the freezer for a minute, take out and stir, shove it back in, stir & serve?

RoseC · 12/08/2011 21:47

I beg your pardon?! :o

Madness! :o

get a large cold plate, spread it over that thinly, and that will cool it down very quickly :)

SaffronCake · 12/08/2011 21:49

I'll never get away with taking it back to the kitchen, she's seen it now.

I also blow upon and wave hand over. So much that my son (26 months) now does that before he eats anything! Even a sandwich. Grin

SaffronCake · 12/08/2011 21:50

Genius squeakytoy will do that right now.

Another top cooling tip: transfer repeatedly from one cold plate to the other. Obviously only works if you are using china/pottery/type bowls, not kiddie-friendly plastic ones.

FunkyChicken · 12/08/2011 21:50

My technique for cooling quickly if its a 'mushy' type meal (without wasting electricty in the process!) - spread some of it v thinly over a large dinner plate - cools v quickly- then scoop back into the bowl to spoon it.

SaffronCake · 12/08/2011 22:01

The plate thing worked so fast that dinner has actually all been eaten already. TY Mumsnet.

Pudding was going to be rhubarb crumble and custard but on reflection I think a yogurt will do nicely thanks!
