I have no problem with them per se. I do think they're ricockulous with the levels of unrealism but my biggest gripe is this: When was the last time anything was left a surprise? TV mags and newspapers tell you everything that happens before you watch it. And with the exception of June Brown, the acting isn't even that good (I'm looking at you Nick Platt).

I bet you used to watch Eldorado...CUSTARDO Hmm

AgentZigzag · 13/08/2011 01:01

No, NO! I didn't mean it, please don't report me for an offensive personal attack.

I take it back it was home and away you watched

I can't get into any of the others but I admit it...I lurrrrve Eastenders. The Slaters have me in stitches, and Alfie Moon bless him...I know people like them (mumbles that may not actually be a good thing).

I pride myself on being an honest person, I never try to hide the fact that I am stupid Grin.

Birdsgottafly · 13/08/2011 01:13

I'm more scatty than stupid.

If Eastenders ever went off air, the ironing would never get done.

Thinking about it i feel quite smug because although i work full time, i can get everything done and still watch crap for 30 mins Grin.

TheFrogs · 13/08/2011 01:15

Ooh no, you cant watch it in the week. Sunday...hours of joy.

AgentZigzag · 13/08/2011 01:17

Like the acting and scenery on so many of these shows, that flounce was rather wooden.

Not even a parting cliffhanger.

LadyBeagleEyes · 13/08/2011 01:17

Take The High Road was a lovely soap.
After it became High Road and tried for a wider audience it was crap.
It was a lovely comfortable soap, like Emmerdale Farm before it became Emmerdale.Grin
And honest, I'm not over 70, I quite like Neighbours as well, as it's more optimistic.
We need to bring back happy cosy afternoon soaps.

Birdsgottafly · 13/08/2011 01:18

I'm usually still camping on a Sunday, so no telly at all (does that then make me super inteligent!).

M0naLisa · 13/08/2011 01:27

i love my soaps, im currently taking part in a soap quiz on TV. lol so i must be sad! but so what i dont care!

TheFrogs · 13/08/2011 01:33

Camping shudder.

Super intelligent maybe.....but it's blardy cold!

AgentZigzag · 13/08/2011 01:38

'I'm usually still camping on a Sunday'

I'm spending far too much time trying to work out why you're usually still camping on a Sunday.

It implies you go camping every weekend regardless of the season, but I just can't fathom why anyone would put themselves through such a torture Confused

DioneTheDiabolist · 13/08/2011 01:49

Watching soaps is good for improving emotional intelligence quotient.

Birdsgottafly · 13/08/2011 14:36

Agent- i love camping, we sea fish, so do camp nealy all year round. The weather doesn't matter because we are out in it anyway. The camping just saves the drive home or sleeping in the car. I do 'posh' camping, though, electric hook up, laptop, and matching carpet etc.

It was just suggested earlier (as it usually is) that if you work full time, you must live in squallor if you dare to watch 'crap' television. That was why i threw in the 'i must be super inteligent', as well because i do without a telly most weekends (we take one but rarely watch it), because as we all know, soaps are for stupid people [yawn].

Andrewofgg · 13/08/2011 14:48

Soaps are for saving on the power bill. Turn off the box when they start.

Andrewofgg · 13/08/2011 19:09

AgnetZigzag - is it just possible that robotlollypopman is pulling your leg, rattling your chain, getting a rise out of you - and doing it very well?

AgentZigzag · 13/08/2011 19:30

Are you talking about my Angry face Andrew?

In the post above I said 'The OP's just messing isn't he LoveBeing? ' and the OP answered after the angry post 'Oh AgentZigZag, you do make me laugh. Besides, she knew the rules when I bought her.' so he knew I was joking (I think).

Thanks for trying to diffuse the situation though Grin

(Somebody will probably come along and defend you from that Angry face now Andrew Grin)

Andrewofgg · 13/08/2011 20:17

Thank you Zigzag - I should have read more thoroughly!

AgentZigzag · 13/08/2011 20:22

hehe, I scan read quite a lot and misread stuff all the time.

I'm mostly scanning for angry faces showing where the bun fights are Grin

LordOfTheFlies · 13/08/2011 22:19

I used to watch Corrie, Emmers and Stenders ( and the repeats ,used to make Sunday dinner to the Eastenders Omnibus)

Stopped watching Eastenders in about Feb
Stopped watching Corrie when John Stape fell off the hospital roof.(Not that I madly missed JS. I just missed some episodes and didn't bother with catching up, so just let it lie)

Still watch Emmerdale.
But it means I've got hours of my life back!

allbie · 13/08/2011 22:49

Which soaps d'you like best? I never have watched 'enders, just doesn't appeal. Like corrie if I'm just sat for a mo, emmerdale is really rather rubbish but I do kinda like neighbours...no, I can't fathom why either!
