Think my Nan had this. She used to cut her face out of photos!!!!
Obviously easier before the digital age!

HipHopOpotomus · 08/08/2011 22:59

I don't like it either BUT I find often photos I hate, aren't that bad after a few views/weeks.

Love what THEMAGNIFICENT... said above. I largely feel similar. Well put

GhoulLasher · 08/08/2011 23:05

You need to gert yourself a photoface. I have been doing the same one for twenty years now and I usually look nice on pics....I never look crap unless caught unawares...then I look like a melted turd in a frock.

If your teeth are not perfect don't worry....smile VERY wide and show them...a flashy grin always looks nice....the pictures are never close nough to show details like chips and fillings... Turn your head slightly...NEVER look down and show chins....chin up, tilt head and Grin and I promise you'll look good.

You need to gert yourself a photoface.

Agree!

What TheMagnificentBathykolpian said.

I've always hated having my photo been took but as she said I came to realise that my friends don't care. I'm not there yet but I am working towards being more relaxed about my photos been shown on FB.

NunOnTheRun · 08/08/2011 23:14

OP, I couldn't sympathise with you more.

Trouble is, people do seem to enjoy making you feel even worse with their comments Sad

NunOnTheRun · 08/08/2011 23:17

Linerunner: That's it! Unphotogenic Syndrome. We is victims, innit.

Grin Wine

Mandy2003 · 08/08/2011 23:18

Hate hate hate being photographed! I always say please don't I am totally un-photogenic but no-one listens The First Time...

Cousins from Australia ignored my request, then once he'd taken it the photographer saw the pic on his camera's screen and was nearly Sad

Gillg57 · 08/08/2011 23:19

I too have always hated pictures of me and people that find it hilarious to sneakily take some! I refused to allow my employer to put my picture on the website :) Word of warning about facebook. It now has some whizzy facial recognition software which means if someone puts up a photo it can cross ref your face against any other photo in which you have been tagged and tag you in the new picture without you even knowing. So if paranoid as me you need to change your facebook security settings to block it.

randomness · 08/08/2011 23:19

I generally assume that I'm going to look worse in 10 years than I do now (has been true so far at least Hmm ) so even if I hate today's photos today, I'll love them in 10 years.

Snap away, I say, for tomorrow I'll only look older.

SilveryMoon · 08/08/2011 23:20

I hate it too.
People try to take my pic, I tell them I really don't like it and I step out of frame, but they get me later in a really suprise fashion and then tag me on fb when I look really fat, really ugly.
Camera's make me very nervous and I hate them :-(

OddBoots · 08/08/2011 23:22

I hate photos of myself but I have put that to one side for the sake of loved-ones, especially my children. I now won't look at them until they are a few years old, I find a few years of distance makes them bearable.
