To get an IPad when it's not exactly a necessity?

totally trivial thread alert

I have a laptop, so why do I want an Ipad? Is it just the marketing that has convinced me they are useful, or the fact my students bring them to class and they look so cool? Are they really that good?

First baby coming in a few months so not exactly got money to burn, but the craving isn't going away ... should I indulge myself?

I got mine for my birthday from dp, it was the best present anyone has ever bought me and I use it daily. It has come in very handy and I use it for so many different things.

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy which I don't need but I wanted and it will make life easier.

I too got mine as a birthday present from DH, I love it but it is totally frivolous as we have 2 laptops and I have an iPhone too . It's bloody marvellous for browsing on the sofa (exactly what i'm doing now!)

Get one! DH and I have one each (so we can completely ignore each other ) the kids use it too and they have some great apps.

Go one treat yourself to something you can MN easily with when your nine months pregnant - when you won't be able to balance the laptop on your bump!

Totally not BU. We have numerous laptops, a desktop and NO need for an iPad at all. But they look funky, my DDs love them (have played with them in JL) and and I rather fancied one. So it should be here early next week. I can't wait!

I use mine all the time. I love it mainly for drawing though, so have an Apple Pencil and use the procreate app. Depending on what you need it for, it’s one of those things that could be useful or you might never bother with. They’re fab tho
