have just double checked and LTSB now count deposits over 3.30pm as the next days transaction but does give you until 3.30pm on the day a debit is taken out to pay in funds to cover it (never used to be like that when I worked there - must have fallen in line with the LLoyds system as I worked on the TSB side)

Was it with TSB by any chance? They have a policy of if there isn't cleared funds by 3pm today, DD's won't be covered (or you'll be classed as OD) tomorrow. Its a stupid rule, cos the money is there!

bananasplitz · 04/08/2011 09:22

why not pay the bill directly with the cash

bananasplitz · 04/08/2011 09:22

ignore that, its early, the dd will still come out :(

Seona1973 · 04/08/2011 09:37

the dd has already come out and it took the account overdrawn even though the cash was going in the same day. LTSB gives you until 3.30pm on the day the payment comes out to pay in funds to cover it so I would have thought the op is talking about another bank.
