Today my 2.5 yr old daughter had a tantrum, i wouldnt let her have the new crayons id just bought out on the bus because she would drop and lose them (its happened before...etc) i said when we get home we can, wel draw x...tried to distract her.

Other women at the bus stop were trying not to laugh and saying encouraging things like, dont worry, wow amazing lungs etc...
the bus arrives, we get on the bus, bus takes off.

Old man stands up, comes towards my daughter and I and SCREAMS "SHUUUUUT UUUUUP!SHUUUUUT THE FUUUUCK UUUUUP"

Im like Shock. I didnt say a word to him, wasnt sure what to say actually.

Cue a group of other women (individual women, not a bunch of friends) from all ages start shouting at him for being a twat, explaining my daughters 2, whats his escuse for screaming etc...

he starts saying young mums, should be at work, badly brought up child and if he was doing it hed just give my daughter a good hard back handed slap accross the face.

im really glad i didnt say anything. i was actually quite embarassed.

i know people moan loudly, but screaming at 2.5yr old on a bus? hmm

Also, shit website. do not like this at all :(

If anyone screamed at my DD like that I would kill the bastard!

midnightservant · 02/08/2011 23:15

The man on the bus goes Fuck, Fuck, Fuck...

sorry, something came over me, I'll be alright in a minute.

WhoseGotMyEyebrows · 02/08/2011 23:20

InTheNightKitchen That's funny! I've nearly had those moments so many times!

Joolyjoolyjoo · 02/08/2011 23:29

He sounds charming. I think it's great so many people leapt to your defence, and you did well to say nothing. I would have needed to say something sarky Blush

What an awful thing to say out loud. I tend to just have them thoughts in my head. Now I take my ipod if I'm going on the bus. Grin

People do often just sit on buses and 'Not Get Involved' when someone is being picked on so I'm really glad people stuck up for you.

(btw, if you go to 'customise' at top of page I think you can set it to 'mumsnet classic' if you want to old layout back)

Pixel · 02/08/2011 23:42

The old layout.

TartyDoris · 02/08/2011 23:44

I do think that too many people let their kids run riot on buses and trains and planes but the old man was certainly out of order.

I am IRL a total wuss peaceful person.Don't do road rage or answer back TBH.

But some cunt prat shoved me at the London Eye when I was carrying my then 3yo DS.( Everyone was walking towards the wheel, he was forcing his way in the opposite direction)
The lioness in me roared and I gave him a full arm swing backhander and shouted 'Don't you push me you f*king arrogant b*tard'.
DH was Shock and I must admit I don't know where it came from!

I think knittedbreast you should've towered over him and just said quietly, menacingly "Don't you dare talk to my child like that"
Keep the upper hand without losing face.
