Question marks? At the end of statements?

Annoying, but I was wondering if you agree with me that questions ending in a full stop are more annoying. Can I sort of understand why they might end a statement with a question mark. Yes, because I think they are trying to indicate that the statement is open for discussion or to signal that they would have intoned. Wrong and annoying, but can anyone please explain why anyone uses fullstops at the end of questions.

YANBU. I have a friend on Facebook who ends every status, even if it's just something like 'is tired' with ?!?!? and another who ends every sentence he ever writes with ... They both drive me mad. Unnecessary and irritating...?!?!?

Are you sure they are not just asking a question?

Not sure I've ever noticed questions ending with full stops. Have you. No, it doesn't work.

Allin - if they are asking questions, why don't they phrase them with question words?
