To think I should have just kept my mouth shut

feeling slightly, a lot well, stupid. to say the least

Had dd booked into intensive swimming lessons all week, and this morning i was talking to one of the other mums about the cost etc (quite reasonable) and found my self saying I've only booked her in to get her more confident in the water, before she goes back to her swimming club lessons in september and if that wasn't bad enough cringe worthy moment next I open my mouth and i usually pay £x for her to have individual lessons
week, my gawd what have I turned into? I am exactly the type of look what I can afford annoying parent I thought I detested.
I honestly didn't mean to brag mention it at all, it just kinda slipped out of my mouth like verbal diareah.

Somebody slap me, and tell me I'm a twat muppet.

Why can't I keep my mouth shut?

Blewit- my DC, and their classmates, all had their badges sewn to their cossies- that's what it was all about, who had the most badges. (PS we won, every time)

alow I wouldn't have taken offence if I was the other mum. I actually said the other day to someone that I was hoping to find a weeks intensive as DS swimming club closed for 4 weeks and he loves swimming. I then mentioned from twice a week to not at all for 4 weeks was going to be a shock for him. It sounded awful but wasn't what I meant. I'm a LP with low income so definatly wasn't about look what I can afford was just a statement of fact.

FWIW for the comparison DS' lessons are £32/ mth for 2x 1/2 hour sessions a week. His lessons have between 10-15 but have the whole pool.

Yes you were a twat. But not as much of a twat as one of the other mothers from my kids intensive swimming course who asked me if I was expecting number 4. I have 3 kids and am very much not pregnant. Just fat apparently.

OMG - I must be one too then - I thought this was called converstaion Confused I have always been shit at chit chat. Too direct, speak first, all that. I lack social graces - oh well who gives a shit!?! Grin

EndangeredSpecies · 29/07/2011 21:15

If I analysed everything I said to that extent I would never speak. Ever. Perhaps that would be a good thing.

Anyway at the rate mine were going with the group lessons they would have been doing their A levels before front crawl. Pay for private and be proud.

alowVera · 29/07/2011 21:21

Endangered I do tend to over analyse everything. must be the utter twat in me
