to not want my nearly 6 year old to have a TV in his bedroom?

How many on here have TVs in their children's bedroom. I don't agree with it while he so young but I don't want to be mean either. He asked me today as he has been with his 2 cousins and they have a TV in their room and watch cartoons before bed. Me and my son read books before bed, which would mean that that would get sidelined too perhaps.

Both ds and sd have TVs, but only for DVDs theydon't have aerials set up. It goes on for a while before bed but they never normally bother during the day. They still read, as do I still read to them. I know what DVD they have on and switch it off before they settle down to sleep. Works for us not for some
