To think this is a sign of a weak school?

My dc's secondary school always send out the reports to arrive in the first week of the summer holidays, which means that there is no way of contacting the teachers with any concerns arising from it. Does anyone else's school do this and AIBU to think that this is a way for them to get out of having to listen to any concerns that parents may have with their dc?

would depend onwhat school is like rest of yr - if ur happy you'll be contacted during yr re any serious issues then I wouldn't have any problems ith getting rpt after school ends

If it is secondary, don't blame the teachers- they will have little or no say in the decision. That will be made by the head, or more likely, the reporting team. Were you told in advance when the reports would be issued? If they are late, it could well be due to computer issues, some of the report packages are a nightmare!

As I said earlier, I know it's not down to the individual teachers, who are great. It's like this every year so it must be policy to do it, which really annoys me!
