Not to know what colour petrol is?

Talking with DH tonight, I now feel rather silly .

I always assumed it was black, like crude oil I guess...

As someone who has driven a car, and filled it up at the pump am I alone in this?

Try siphoning it.

There is an oil paint colour i use called petrol which is a bluey green - i always presumed it was that colour.

Well that is the name i use to describe that colour, whether it is or not i think that is what is understood by it in fashion/art terms.
