I'd like to drop a couple of dress sizes and I know the best way to do this is healthy eating and exercise but wondered if anyone had any experience of the Adios weight loss pills you see adertised?! Or similar ones?!

Thanks

Fine to be concerned, but I have to say, I've never got angry with a patient for the way they live their life. For shouting/swearing and being a prick to me, yes, but I went into a caring profession to care for people, not to get angry with them.

Nanny0gg · 22/07/2011 17:24

Adios don't do anything.
I agree with others, cut down on carbs, eat sensible portions and exercise.

chubsasaurus · 22/07/2011 17:27

Adios do nothing.

The only things I have found that do anything are alli or ECAs. Alli pills are for people who can't resist fat (buy online and they dont check your bmi, you can lie) and ECAs are illegal.

Get down the gym.

squeakytoy · 22/07/2011 17:27

I agree with the low/good carbs, low sugar, lots of DAILY exercise too.

I started on a mix of the Dukan/South Beath diet plan in March as well as doing at least an hour of cardio exercise a day. I have lost 2 stone and dropped 2 dress sizes so far. And it is staying off. I have enjoyed doing it, and not found it difficult at all, after years of faffing about with silly diets and getting nowhere.

mosschops30 · 22/07/2011 17:30

What is this controlled an 'im better than you competition'.
Whatever, you win, you are far better, less angry blah blah.
(no idea why you think im angry at patients, or was this part of the comp!)

babysaurus · 22/07/2011 17:39

Mosschops30 please can you say TYPE 2 Diabetes, rather than just diabetes. I am a Type 1 diabetic and am sick of people assuming that I became diabetic as I was overweight and ate like a pig.

As for diet pills - if any of them worked, there would be a lot of thinner people around!

controlleddemolition · 22/07/2011 17:52

I just didn't understand the angry face, you hadn't qualified it but now you have. and competition? if you say so,I wasn't trying to say I was 'better' than you, I just don't understand being in a profession that makes you angry. On reflection, there is no annoyed/frustrated emoticon and perhaps that's what you meant, in which case I totally understand the sentiment.

babysaurus · 22/07/2011 17:53

What is your profession...?

frownieface · 22/07/2011 18:04

Do not take alli what ever you do. You will wake up in the middle of the night needing to change the sheets iykwim.

EricNorthmansMistressOfPotions · 22/07/2011 21:41

I've been on alli for a week and together with low calorie diet I've lost 3lb. No poo related mishaps. Been worth it for me though it's a very expensive way to lose weight - a tenner a week per extra lb of fat...I had better keep it off!

Adios are a pile of shite though, the only kind of pounds you'll lose are £££

NorksAreMessy · 22/07/2011 21:49

frowny that really is rather wonderful and totally awful at the same time

ShellyBoobs · 22/07/2011 22:53

Are these the shit-yourself-thin tablets?

I think I'd be too scared to leave the house going by the stories I've heard about people taking them.

charleneanne · 22/07/2011 22:57

adios are crap keep your money in your pocket

NoTeaForMe · 22/07/2011 23:02

Thanks all, I think I knew the answer to the diet pills really! Although bleurgh to the Alli pills, that's horrific!!

Although I should have thought about it I didn't realise that this thread would cause any disagreements at all. Just to clarify.....I'm not morbidly obese, no strain on th NHS. I had a baby 9 months ago and am still heavier than I'd like to be (used to be a 10 now I'm a 12-14, would like to be a 10 again) that's all.

Thanks for all your comments.

I used Zotrim a few years ago and found them quite effective.

At the time they were the only clinically proven, herbal weight-loss tablet.

They take the edge off your appetite, and you feel fuller for longer. The blurb also says they MAY help to curb cravings, and I certainly found that to be the case.

I'd recommend them over something that makes the world fall out of your bottom.

LittleJennyRobyn · 23/07/2011 12:50

Adios does not help you lose weight, they are a diaretic which is great if you suffer from bloating like i do.

I used to take aqua ban but adios works out cheaper, been taking them for about 4 weeks and has def helped and i dont suffer as much with stomach cramps like i used to.....so in that respect will continue to take them.

But as for weight loss.....none whatsoever, mind you i didn't take them for losing weight in the first place.
