To be really irritated that nobody seems to use their indicators anymore

I've just driven home from work, during my entire journey I only saw one person use their indicators? Why don't people indicate? It really bugs me!

Sometimes I wonder if some drivers got their licence off the back of a Frosties/Cornflakes box. Fill in the form on the back of the box and send off.

I had one incident when I was crossing the road by the local video shop, and some dipstick flew onto the road. Needless to say the driver was furious when I slowed down and took ages to cross Grin. He shouted at me for crossing so I shouted to him to use his bloody indicators in future and people will know where he intends to go.

DH went on a crash awareness course led by the police a few years ago. They told DH and the class not to indicate at roundabouts on the grounds that so many people do it wrong it is less dangerous for other people if they don't indicate at all.

My particular bugbear is the woman (and it is always a woman) who indicates left at the exit before the one she is planning to use. I almost crashed into one stupid twit doing that because expecting her to pull off I went round her and of course she wasn't pulling off but heading for the same exit I was.

Similarly the highway code tells you that if you are waiting to pull out and someone comes towards you indicating left you ignore it, because they might have just left it on.

YANBU - I HATE this! The number of times I sit behind someone at a junction and have absolutley no idea which way they are turning - do they think I'm a mind reader?

Also on the motorway, people don't indicate when changing lanes anymore and just seem to weace in and out of the cars like anything. It makes me incredibly nervous.

Not only that SunRays - all MNers are addicted to stereotyping :)

Bloody hell Tallulah... the police actually said that out loud? Shock My route home involves going straight on at a roundabout where 90% of cars turn left. Few of the left turners bother indicating... so I rock up, don't indicate because I'm going straight on, and every other day nearly get broadsided by someone who thinks I'm going left with everyone else. Ironic part is... it's about 100m from a police station.

I agree it's irritating. But I also find bicyclists annoying as well because so many do not obey the rules of the road - damned dangerous as well! And a whole generation of kids growing up without wearing bike helmets, not knowing how to signal, which side of the road to ride on (and not to plow down pedestrians in the walkways!), and ignoring road signs/signals that they should be following. It drives me nuts!

I had to stop suddenly to avoid one driver who had indicated to turn off the roundabout early, and then continued to sail on past the exit he had indicated for, right in front of me. Very confusing, and surely not that difficult to work out that you just indicate when leaving the roundabout, not randomly when you are going round it?

However, I once saw someone reverse round part of a roundabout. Now, that is dangerous.

YANBU
I am always waving my fist when they dont indicate when crossing a road with three young children. They are normally on their phone!!!
