Honestly, there were lots of people on her course with similar problems. They could never be academic but no academic could ever have the same creative streak as they did.

I just want DS to be gay. That's all I ask.

I would appreciate any card given to me but I think a home made one is particularly lovely.

OP, it really is the thought that counts I'm hoping. My DS (end of Yr1) is really struggling but he still wrote (sorry copied) messages into 4 cards last weekend. The messages were his own thoughts on what he liked doing best with each teacher/ta. He then decorated each card "beautifully". Frankly the messages are nearly illegible but he tried so hard.

I am expect at least one of the four to be cupcakes. Surely the odds are good?

As a secondary school teacher I don't get many cards and in the 10 years I've been teaching I've only received 2 homemade ones (for some reason teenagers are less keen to make them for their teachers Grin). I still have them both even though one of them was drawn on lined paper (ripped out of an exercise book) during my lesson!

Well so much for homemade cards from my 3yr old DS. I suggested we get card making tonight in my most enthusiastic voice but he said he didn't want to.

So, another question.... are homemade cards (made by mum) for teachers OK? Grin

It's going to be obvious isn't it? Even if DS adds a bit of scribble on tomorrow and writes his name inside.

TheDeathlyMarshmallows · 21/07/2011 21:10

I did bubble printing with 4 year old DS to decorate our his cards so that when he got bored i could finish them and noone would know the difference Grin

thefirstMrsDeVere · 21/07/2011 21:11

Ours worked a treat! Lots of sniffles and awwwwws all round

Job done.

AuntiePickleBottom · 21/07/2011 21:13

well ds teacher adored the card

Home made cards are the best, and messages written by the DCs in their own words (if they're old enough).

I especially like the ones which say things like:

'Thanks for teeching me, you have realy hellped me with my spelings.'

Or 'You have teached me to get much gooder at English.'

Mobly · 21/07/2011 21:42

Well I have, very artfully I must add, stuck a load of sequins on each card so they look like flowers.

DS is going to draw the stems and scribble his name inside in the morning. I am veing very hopeful here. He is not a morning person.

Glad everyone else's card making efforts went a bit better than mine :)
