for being upset by what is actually fantastic news. Feel confused and guilty & need to give myself a good shake.

I have an 8 week old DS who I love with all my heart. While pregnant, I was always convinced I was having a boy, though everyone guessed I was having a girl. As my sister is my best mate and has a little girl I had thought a girl would be lovely but honestly didn't think I had any preference for a boy or girl. However, I've just had a text from a friend to tell me she's just had a little DD and my first reaction was pure jealousy. I'm so confused by my reaction and feel guilty for my thoughts. It's actually make me worry that if we have a second child I'd be disappointed if it was another DS. Am away to give myself a good shake & a telling off Angry and hope this is just my hormones messing with my mind.

This thread was just a ruse to tell us all that you have the best baby ever!

razzle Im interested in why you felt smug? Not meaning to get at you honestly Smile, just interested in why someone would feel smug about having a girl over a boy? (even though you dont feel that now obviously)

And why did your cousin say she would be gutted if she had had a boy?

congrats on your son !

I think deep down you are so in love with your baby , that you want another .Mabey its not so much that your friend has a girl , as shes getting the magical first days again ?.

Any way positives about boys ....they are quicker to dress ....no faffing about with ribbons and bobbles and hair.
They dont want to steal your make-up , perfume, jewelery or clothes when the reach 13 yrs old.
They are handy , boys love helping you carry stuff
Theres nothing nicer than having your strapping lad look down at you and tell he loves you because youve just fed him his tea .
Walk down the street with your boy when hes a teenager , and all of a sudden all the local girls are very very nice to you Shock

My boys are much funnier than their sisters ....they have me pmsl daily !

only negative about boys ...is the price of their trainers !

droves your post made me get a bit choked up Blush I have sons (can't believe how lucky I am - girls everywhere in our families) and I get butterflies at the thought of them growing into fine young men.

I have to go, I have something in my eye...

If it makes you feel better I always feel a bit jealous everytime anyone announces a pregnancy or a birth Blush

I have no idea why. I have three beautiful children, the youngest of whom is only 4 months old. I am still young, we could have another one if we wanted and haven't ruled out that we wont yet still there is always that slight sting in my stomach when I hear someone elses good news.

makes no sense and makes me feel like a horrid person but there it is Sad
