Dsis has bought Dn (3 weeks old) a pair of Ugg boots but cannot pay her mobile phone bill. She has no house phone and now no mobile she cannot contact us and we cannot contac her. This seem crazy to me. AIBU?

Why not suggest she takes them back- and spends £5 and saves the £40?

WhoseGotMyEyebrows · 24/07/2011 21:38

That's mental!

What does Dsis stand for? I've always wondered that and it's not in the Acronyms.

Mandy2003 · 24/07/2011 21:43

Dear sister I should think!

Agree with exoticfruits put the boots on the baby, take the pictures then take the boots back Grin What's the point of boots in summer anyway?

When my DS was 5 months old he had a tiny pair of DocMartins. The pics did look cute, but boots no earthly use whatsoever!

WhoseGotMyEyebrows · 24/07/2011 21:45

Oh! I thought it would be Darling Sister In . . . .? Like SIL etc.

Mandy2003 · 24/07/2011 21:52

Dear/darling - usually interchangeable as far as I know!

OP, of course yanbu! It would be responsible to point out a few facts of life to your dsis. I'm assuming it's her first child? Sounds like she needs guidance, given in a way that she will accept (or not).

utter pointless, someone bought ds some timberlands when he was little, looked cute but really never saw the point in them, came with socks and a hat that was hideous and a weird size too, ds has the widest head going and it was too wide for him!... he had a lovely pair of shoes from next for £5 he wore when we where out and about, much better than the timberlands x

DialsMavis · 24/07/2011 22:05

Suzikettles your link says the boots are made of "Lamp skin" Grin, I can't imagine that being warm or even comfortable for adults let alone a babys delicate feet...

When we had DS, our friend who lives in Oz posted us a beautiful pair of baby blue Uggs for him as a gift. See, now I'm worried that when he wears them (they don't fit yet) I'm going to get secretly judged as a shallow nobber. It seems a shame not to put them on him though as they are very cute and will also be the right size in winter.

Mandy2003 · 25/07/2011 15:55

They would be great for the winter: no-one would judge you I'm sure! Plus they're real Australian Uggs Envy - go for it!
