To have admitted my first ever girl crush?

So I've developed a major crush on a woman from the TV show Nikita - I told DP in a jokey way and he went all moody and said I should make up my mind whether I'm bi or straight!! Can you have a girl crush without being bi?? I thought so and isn't it a bit childish to take offense to me having a crush on a celeb? was I unreasonable to admit it??

Krumbum: because it was simply an experimental phase for me. I was quite sexually adventurous when I was in my early 20s and slept with a lot of men and a few women. Since having DS and becoming older, I am not looking for a variety of sexual partners, I want to settle down in a monogamous relationship with a man. I have never been in love with a woman nor had any romantic or long lasting sexual feelings for one.

This is an old thread people!!!

I'm in a monogamous relationship with a man. And hope to be a for a long time, this doesn't mean I no longer have attraction to women. Same as being in a relationship with a women wouldn't make me a lesbian,
do you think if you and dp broke up you'd never see a women in a sexual way again? Whether you act upon it or not.

I don't think YABU. I've had plenty of girl crush's, I've even snogged one or two, but have never wanted to go any further than that with a woman. I would lik to ask vair what sexuality that makes me? I've always thought myself straight but perhaps I was wrong? :o

DamselInTornDress · 25/06/2012 09:46

Straight girls don't go around snogging other girls. Just like straight blokes don't go round snogging other blokes. What sexuality would you think a bloke was who snogged other blokes? Cause therein is your answer.

Either way, the OP's partner didn't need to be such a knob about it.

I reckon hes probably just feeling a bit threatened if its not something you have even metioned before, what would you think if he suddenly admitted to having a thing for a bloke on the tv? just reassure him that you are straight and its more appreciation than lusting

Krumbrum I'm actually single, have been for a long time and I've no desire to be with a woman. I think sexuality is a very fluid thing and a personal choice as to what we identify as. There's no set criteria for bisexuality but I identify as a straight woman.
