I'd eat it. I don't throw any food out until the food is old enough to leave on it's own. It's not like it suddenly turns bad on the stroke of midnight.

Don't ever do this around a holiday , I used to work in HR dept of a processing plant and suppliers are allowed to "pack ahead" at these times. E.g say you are allowed put 13 days on the meat (can't remember exact amount) so packing on 10th meat needs to be dated 23rd. Around holidays you could pack on 10th and date meat for 25th to cover supplies to the supermarkets. I have heard them packing for 26th or 27th though to get ahead and just hide evidence when Tescos et al visit. (including the onsite inspectors, it's amazing how much can be hidden even from people working there day in day out - everyone has to have a hygiene certificate on file, well it just depends on who's personel files you select for the checks).

On a different note though unless you buy free range there is no difference between basics range and other labels ,same birds coming through the plant!
