Sorry that really didn't mean to sound smug, I'm not smug at all - just lucky they took to it well, I don't know how it happened really so can't take the credit

dgs had a bare bum for first few days of potty training but they do have to learn to cope with pants etc.Still no reaso why a toddler cant be naked at home whenever you and toddler want.M-i-l should mind her own business imho.

My son trained naked but not through my choice. Even now a year later, he will strip if he has no shoes on.

My nearly 3 year old is almost ALWAYS naked when we are at home - she just likes it. She potty trained like that and has only had ONE accident EVER [smug] so go for it if you want to! I think it's great when kids are running about in the garden in the summer naked - it's what kids are meant to do!!!

When else are you going to be able to run round naked, peeing in the garden other than when you're 27 months old.
I agree with what others have said. Potty training is stressful enough so if any little thing makes it easier then go for it.
My DS used to love having a surreptitious alfresco pee, but he does now know how to use the toilet.
