Ok its dds 7th birthday this week and she doesn't know hwta she wants. The thing is she isn't into anything in particular. So I have said that if she doesn't think of something in time for her birthday we will give her some money for when we go on hols in August.

Dp has said we can't do this its not fair she must have something on her borthday. My argument is i'm not prepared to go and buy something just for the sake of it that might not get played with anyway. I was talking to a couple of people at school today and they have also said i'm being unreasonable.

Its not as if she isn't going to have anything we are having a cake made for her and she will have prezzies from family just not from us untill she decides what shes wants.

Who is being unreasanable me or dp?

Off to a meeting at school but will reply when I get back thanks Smile

How about books?
Especially really special ones that she'd keep forever.

We'll dp went out today whilst i was on school trip and bought dd some more fish for her fish tank. totally random but she was happy lol. I will still give her some money on friday. Howeve she has come up with an idea of what she wants which is a £130 lego set which she knows she wont get. When I told her that she wouldn't be getting it as its far to much money and to put it on her list for father christmas. She said well you told me to think of something lol. Got to giev her 10 out of 10 for trying.

It's meant to be a surprise...lots of little bits of junk which cost £2 each wrapped in cheap wrapping paper. Not a twenty pound note and free reign. Well, it doesn't have to be like that. But as long as you're set on spending money on her, you might as well make it special.
