SortingHardHat · 11/07/2011 09:00

I seem to be the only person i know who loves the name Blush

WhenCanISleep · 11/07/2011 09:01

sounds like half-past seven...maybe David misunderstood when Posh told him the time the baby was born Grin

Islandlady · 11/07/2011 09:06

My maiden name was Harper - they used to call me Harpic - clean round the bend

Islandlady · 11/07/2011 09:08

Oh yeah and also 'appy 'arper

fluffyliquorice · 11/07/2011 09:08

I don't believe for one moment they were influenced by classic literature. This is the Beckhams whe are talking about!

fluffyliquorice · 11/07/2011 09:09

we

throckenholt · 11/07/2011 09:09

I hope the poor kid doesn't end up as Harpie :(

lovecorrie · 11/07/2011 09:11

Surely they wouldn't have actually read To Kill A Mockingbird. I'm not being funny but.. it is much more likely to be something to do with Harpers Bazaar

SortingHardHat · 11/07/2011 09:14

Or they could have watched the film, it's a very influential film and one widely watched in schools for donkeys years.

Just to give them the benfit of the doubt, althoug it is more likely to be after the magazine!

WhenCanISleep · 11/07/2011 09:15

and Harper Lee's actual first name was Nelle...

mollschambers · 11/07/2011 09:17

You are being funny corrie. You made me laugh.

MoreBeta · 11/07/2011 09:24

I guess that the choices of 'Harper' and 'Seven' might have very specific personal importance to The Beckhams much the same as when named DS1 aNd DS2.

That said, I think something like 'Moonbase Alpha' (Space: 1999 fans will understand) would be cool.

Meglet · 11/07/2011 09:28

I like it. I'm sure there's another sleb with a Harper though.

I wonder if the footie themed second name means that Beckham is going to finish off his career in the UK, they're coming back this summer aren't they?

Bathsheba · 11/07/2011 09:28

I like it...!!

TheOriginalFAB · 11/07/2011 09:29

There is nothing wrong with the name and since she is not a friend or relative I don't think you need to worry or be concerned.

Glitterknickaz · 11/07/2011 09:32

It's too like Harpy.

inbetweener · 11/07/2011 09:33

If you say it quick enough its...........half past seven......Grin

katz · 11/07/2011 09:34

i like the name and maybe its Harper after Wizards of Waverly Place - who's knows.

My DD's have names which have appeared in Friends and Neighbours and other TV shows and literature however we chose them because we liked the names and the meanings when reading them in a baby name book.

wannaBe · 11/07/2011 09:43

bloody awful.

Why oh why do people insist on giving their children such freakish names? Seven is not a name it's a number fgs.

And do people not consider the impact when they call their kid something which they think is cute/querky/unusual only for the rest of the world to think it's odd/awful. Kids have to live with names for the rest of their lives...

TheFogsGettingThicker · 11/07/2011 09:55

Harper was the name of a character in a Patricia Cornwell novel. She was an elderly sister of a nasty novelist.
It's one of those names I can't see with a newborn baby, but hey.

papermate · 11/07/2011 10:01

A member of the foo fighters has a daughter called Harper, Myleen class has a daughter hero harper, And Nicole Richie has a daughter Harper. Didnt Vicky once say she had never read a book, so I doubt the baby is named after a famous author!

icooksocks · 11/07/2011 10:01

Its not the most offensive name I've ever heard-but it sounds like a wine bar to me Blush

AgonyBeetle · 11/07/2011 10:02

Stop harping on.

tigermummy35 · 11/07/2011 10:12

Sounds like a make of car!
