Should I let DD sweat a bit more or put her out of her misery?

I gave DD1 (10) a tenner to take when she goes out with a friend tomorrow.

She lost it Hmm

I had a quick shufty and found it sitting on her desk (full of crap) with the wind blowing a gale through the window, so it could have ended up anywhere.

Should I tell her I've found it, or let her carry on feeling shit because she was so careless with my money?

I think it's a very mean and cruel thing to go into your child's room, take money off her desk and make her think she's lost it. Sad

i lost £10 when i was that age, I remember feeling absolutely gutted..granted £10 was worth a whole lot more then but I still remember how upset I was that day..so tell her.

spiderpig8 - after reading the orginal OP, i really don't think she did it as a trick, after all she sent her dd twice back to look for it, before the OP found it. So the DD actually thought she had lost it. It wasn't like the money was just sitting there clear as day and she took it. Hmm

On my own personal note, i lost £10 or £5 not sure, at that age after opening a halifax young savers account you were given a house bank, and the cash i left it behind in a cheapo arcade and was completely gutted, i seemed to have just about recovered from it now though Grin
