Potter doesn't get to Oz until next week, when DD wants us to pick her up after a special late night premiere.....

That's a premiere we can't go to as that would be, like, gay.:o

I read the OP as 'to go to MY OWN' cinema- I was about to come and rant yes YABU for having your own cinema! Envy
As for your actual question no YANBU, I like to do many things on my own and people think its odd but I like my own company

I've taken a day off work to go. DH might get the day off too, in which case he'll come with me. But otherwise I'll happily go by myself. And, seeing as I'm using some leave to give me 3 day weeks until I go on maternity leave, it probably won't be my last solo trip to the cinema.

But... I remember going to see one of the HP films on my own before. I went up to the counter, conversation went like this:
Me: One ticket to Harry Potter, please
Cinema lady: Just one?
Me: Yes, please
CL: You're going on your own Hmm
Me: Yes...

Five minutes later I was loading up on popcorn and drinks. Guy at the cash register said (as I struggled with purse/food/drinks/tickets). "Have you not got someone to hold some of that stuff for you. Are you on your own?"

By the time I actually got into the cinema and girl taking the tickets looked me up and down when I handed her my single ticket, I had got really paranoid!!

(So now I just buy my tickets online beforehand... and probably wouldn't understand any nasty comments now as my French isn't quite up to it...)
