to wonder how much weight you have to lose before people mention it?!

I have since January lost 3.5 stone. I was VERY overweight, so am far from thin now, but I have gone from a good size 22 to a size 16 (ish). So still a way to go, but I do think it's a noticeable change.

I have had lots of compliments and encouragement from friends every time I see them and I am honestly very grateful and Blush about that. So it's not like no-one has noticed. But I work in an office of 50-odd people and barring one (who is a close friend as well as a colleague) not one bugger has said anything at all! Likewise my oldest group of friends (in terms of how long I've known them - we all went to school together - not their age!) haven't mentioned it.

I am a bit of a princess (pampered only child Blush) and am probably being a bit egotistical about it. Am therefore quite happy to be told IABU and should just get over myself Grin

Just think it would be nice if the people I spend upwards of 40 hours a week with, and the others who I've known for most of my life, seemed to have noticed! I'm always complimenting them on new hairstyles, colour, outfits, etc.

Oh god have you read mumsnet? People get offended by anything so people are afraid to say actually youre looking good congrats! Especially at work they might get in trouble for it, also if they see you every day it might not be as noticable as it is to friends who see you every couple weeks.

Congrats to you though

If you see someone every day you are far less likely to notice someone losing weight than if you just see them every few months. Different if you dye or cut your hair then the change is instant. Alot of people hate people commenting on weight changes.
Some illensses cause weight loss so unless you tell people you are trying to lose weight they may fear getting drawn into a conversation about your crohns diease or cancer.

I do think that is a little bit strange. Unless you aren't that close to the people you work with?

I lost a little bit of weight, about half a stone, and loads of people at work noticed and made compliments.

Well done by the way!
