He always pronounces it, like in whipped cream he'll pronounce the h, am I BU to let it irritate me a bit? He thinks I'm in the wrong and you should pronounce the letter but I think it should be silent, who is right?

Hahahaha as soon as I read your OP I thought of Stewie! Sorry Grin

biddysmama · 06/07/2011 16:06

sounds like my toddler, she adds h to anything that starts with a so she hays 'ham' instead of 'am' Grin i think its cute.. probably not as an adult tho

YANBU to be annoyed. But you do realise that once you get to the level of hating his pronunciation the relationship is pretty much dead, don't you?

ihatecbeebies · 06/07/2011 16:27

I think we'll manage to bounce back from this one cogito I don't think we need to call it a day just yet! I don't absolutely detest him for it we just had a joke about it together about disagreeing so we let mumsnet be the judge.

cool whhhhhip, anyone?

TeelaBrown · 06/07/2011 17:04

Seriously though, it's an affectation. I'm basing this ao really reliable source of information: Wikipedia

I think it's meant to sound 'posh', i.e. is a hypercorrection.

TeelaBrown · 06/07/2011 17:05

basing this on a Blush
