To think the neighbours should have some tolerance?

So we are lucky enough to have a 'weekend flat' in another city, as DH's family live in this area and he bought it here a few years ago.

We spend maybe two weekends a month here.

Our downstairs neighbours bang the ceiling and play loud music whenever our 7mo DS kicks on the floor, even if just for a couple of minutes.

We do try and put his playmat down etc to muffle the noise.

Am I being unreasonable to be pissed off? They know we have a baby and we're really not here much.

god they sound like complete wankers. you have carpet and they are still complaining? agreed very rude to bang on the ceiling.

i'd pop down and tell them if they have a complaint to make, make it politely and stop being such a cunt. you may want to rephrase slightly.

maybe you should stick a radio in there on a timer to start up for a couple of hours every day while you are away... they'll soon be praying for the days your baby is banging on the floor Grin

Are you in a university town?

Next time you see them on the stairs, mention that you're considering letting the flat to students.

That should make them pause and consider the relative noise of one baby 4 days a month vs two or three full-time students.
