How old do you reckon children should be to watch Jurassic Park?

What about the later Harry Potter films?

Doctor Who?

Avatar?

CSI?

There were other reasons actually. He called me names, had a fight with my DP and is generally an irresponsible and horrible person. He's applied for access in court but I've told them what a wanker he is and I see no reason why he doesn't just move on and leave me and my family alone. My daughter dies t know him any more, calls my DP daddy, and is no worse off without her 'father'.

gillybean2 · 03/07/2011 10:48

Am guessing Troglodyte that you posted this in the wrong thread...?

There were other reasons actually. He wasn't happy about it but he shouldn't have been such a dick. He called me names, had a fight with my DP and is generally an irresponsible and horrible person. He's applied for access in court but I've told them what a wanker he is and I see no reason why he doesn't just move on and leave me and my family alone. No, was responding to a question I was asked

Goblinchild · 03/07/2011 10:52

No gilly, she's answering my question. I was a bit taken aback at the statement that her DD's father has let her watch JP so she'd severed all contact with him.

IAmATroglodyte · 03/07/2011 10:54

It wasn't Jurassic Park, it was Sweeney Todd as I said in my post!

gillybean2 · 03/07/2011 11:04

Ahh... your posts didn't show up for a while after I posted. I did carefully scour all the previous posts to see if I had missed something. They weren't there when I did, but they are now Hmm

Goblinchild · 03/07/2011 11:11

Oops, yes. Sweeny Todd. When she was 2.
I agreed it was a stupid thing to do, but I was surprised at the extent of your reaction, which is why I asked.

BulletWithAName · 03/07/2011 11:20

I was 5 when I went to see Jurassic Park. Loved every second of it!

duchesse · 03/07/2011 11:47

Dear God Troglodyte, Sweeny Todd is an 18 ffs!! What an absolute arse.

begonyabampot · 03/07/2011 11:58

was in the cinema watching I Am Legend and people had taken their young children to see it, we could hear them gabbing. I was also surprised that one of my son's friends had watched Dark Knight at 5 or 6 yrs old.

It's difficult, my husband is less concerned than me and has let the kids see Jurassic park 3 which they loved (8 and 5yrs) and Transporter when they were younger which I wasn't impressed about. They do love Dr Who though but find it quite scary and watched Start Trek (the Borg one) - it can be really difficult to judge, especially when they are different ages.

Yes, this is a zombie thread but this thread got thrown up via google when I googled "how old should you be to watch Jurassic Park?"
I'm thinking of letting my 9 year old watch Jurassic Park for the first time this weekend so I was interested in what the answers would be!
I think he'll be OK with it. He can have a cushion to hide behind if not. Grin

wonderingsoul · 19/07/2013 22:12

My two 4 and 7 love jp all 3. Have had harry Potter withnthem but they never took much notice.
Deal who..depends on the episode..some can be very scary. So intense read the 'about' before deciding obtuse. It off its to much.

Csi..how ever not they where 15..14 at a push. It is very graphic and not something children need to be seeing for enjoyment really.

Ezio · 19/07/2013 22:16

My DD is 5 and has watched them all, she likes CSI.

Ezio · 19/07/2013 22:16

oh not Avatar actually.
