To think some jars of baby food are actually rather nice?

Sometimes I want to eat them myself.

Is this common?

I was going to give DS an Ella's Kitchen fish pie for tea - DH had got it free from work.

It literally looked like shit. And the smell made me boak. I chucked all of it straight in the bin Hmm

Oh I used to love these when I was little. My mum used to buy them for me as a treat- the desserts. She bought me a savoury one recently for a joke/hark back and I couldn't bring myself to eat it. But I might get a chocolate one tomorrow :o for gouter!

Yanbu.

The apple cinammon rice pudding is fabulous.

I used to sneak slurps from the Ellas Kitchen fruity ones, not a fan of the meals though.

Gosh those squeezy containers were handy.... I wish they did a reusable/dishwashable squeezypack with a ziplock on the end for putting your own concoctions in. Ooo there's a business idea for someone for free.

The reason some baby foods are horrible is that they are very low salt, which is actually how you're meant to make up food for babies. Home cooking tends to load in a bit more salt and fat and is consequently more yummy.

The Ellas Kitchen rice pudding is delicious. I might buy one for myself tomorrow

Heinz Apricot rice, chocolate tapioca and Lamb hotpot. Going back a few years here now of course. There were also tins of titchy tiny spaghetti hoops.

NEVER eat the ella's kitchen cookies. They're vile! I mean I'm all for no/reduced sugar in baby food but sometimes you just should just accept some things need to be sweet! Grin

Rusks are great, the sweet jars are good but savoury ones are just vile. If I test one for temperature with my finger I have to make sure I wipe it off with a cloth in case I accidentally lick it clean and then gag! Baby seems quite happy with it though Grin
