To be pissed off my neighbours are growing cannabis

Emandwilliam · 28/06/2011 15:07

I've just noticed from the upstairs window they have a cannabis plant in their green house! It's bad enough that they are noisy, throw their fag butts in the road outside our house, keep us up till 3 am with all their mates getting pissed and are basically just chavs.

I want my ds to grow up in a nice environment (my house and garden is) and not to be surrounded by these fuck wits and their weed!

Good on you Smile

Bloodymary · 28/06/2011 15:39

Good idea OP, its only one plant after all.
And surely we all tried growing it in our youth?

Bast · 28/06/2011 15:39

psst ...and you didn't 'just notice' if you've been tracking it's dis and reappearances for a matter of days Wink

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 28/06/2011 15:40

If you report your neighbours to the police for allegedly growing one lone cannabis plant in their greenhouse it's unlikely that there'll be any observable sanction applied to them, or that they'll suddenly morph into model citizens.

However, it is likely that your neighbours will attempt to work out who craned their neck out of which window in order to spot the offending plant that they carefully positioned amongst the tomatoes and other greenery.

I would suggest you wait until your neighbours are holding a harvest festival before asking them to please make less noise at night as it's disturbing your sleep, and to please try to keep the road outside your homes litter free.

SootySweepandSue · 28/06/2011 15:41

No idea how to grow drugs. I imagine it is somewhat different to baby tomatoes (my only speciality).

msbuggywinkle · 28/06/2011 15:42

Interesting co-incidence, next door but one to me just had their cannabis farm raided this morning, twas very exciting for the DDs who enjoyed seeing lots of police vans in the street!

Thankfully, now our street can go back to being the lovely, full of families place it used to be! And I don't have to answer 'whats that funny smell' to the DDs every time we leave the sodding house!

Bast · 28/06/2011 15:45

Irresponsible growers, letting a farm smell!

Ludicrous.

A blight on the name of responsible farmers.

Emandwilliam · 28/06/2011 15:50

Bast Ok I notice the other day it disappeared then it reappeared today. Sorry my mistake for not being clear and correct. I'm not a nosy neighbour all our gardens are overlooked.

I just don't like drugs of any kind

OP, you said the neighbours rented? Have you made a complaint to their Landlord or Letting Agents about the other antisocial behaviour in general?

Also, whilst the Police may not be hugely interested in one little cannabis plant, it has always been a very clearly stated "tenancy condition" of any tenancy agreement that I've ever signed that you most definitely do not grow drugs of any kind, in any quantity, anywhere on the premises. Basically, you may find the landlord more interested than the Police on this one.

Bast · 28/06/2011 15:58

That's ok Smile

I don't like drugs either but I do like plants.

Emandwilliam · 28/06/2011 15:59

They rent from their cousin :(

Loads of cannabis seeds availabe on the internet and in 'head' shops, Sooty - Purple Haze is a particularly pleasant strain.

As for growing in a greenhouse or outdoors during the summer months, it's not a lot different to tomatoes - water daily, feed weekly, but make sure that the plants have 12 hours light and 12 hours of darkness every day (black bin bags taped together will suffice to convince the little darlings that it's beddy byes time).

If you haven't purchased guaranteed female seeds, cannabis plants need to be sexed (at their equivalent of puberty) and any male plants must be ruthlessly destroyed as they won't be fit for purpose when they reach maturity Grin

Bast · 28/06/2011 16:05

Oh, I don't know, Purple Haze has been done!

Sensi Star has always tickled my fancy Grin

SootySweepandSue · 28/06/2011 16:12

And here's me thinking people stopped smoking weed when Kurt Cobain died. Clearly don't get out much.

Emandwilliam · 28/06/2011 16:28

Izzy are you trying to encourage people to grow??? Lol

OP posts:
izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 28/06/2011 16:40

As I'm not into skunky strains (too odourous) I'm looking forward to ceremoniously replenishing the Purple Haze pot, and welcoming Bob (surely that should be Roberta?) Marley to the fold Grin

If only my attempts at mushroom growing were as successful...Wink

SootySweepandSue · 28/06/2011 16:47

Izzy are you on Etsy??

Bast · 28/06/2011 16:54

Grin Damn spores. Fiddly lil feckers!

Ormirian · 28/06/2011 16:56

It's quite pretty though. Unless your DC know it's illegal I can't see it will hurt them.

The rest of their sins are a different matter of course. They deserve to be arrested just for being chavs! Tsk!

Ormirian · 28/06/2011 16:57

One of DH's mates gave me one once.

I managed to kill it in about a weel Hmm

worraliberty · 28/06/2011 16:59

Worry if they grow a skunk farm in their loft and bypass the leccy so you end up paying for it Grin

Until that happens, just complain about the other stuff.

This plant seems like the least of your worries.

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 28/06/2011 17:03

I have a passion for botany and horticulture, and a deep appreciation of nature's abundance.

Only natural 'erbs are consumed chez izzy Sooty - parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme, etc.

Bast · 28/06/2011 17:11

"parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme..."

Strawberry fair?

Bast · 28/06/2011 17:12

SCARBOROUGH fair.

Getting my festies all mixed up!

wimpybar · 28/06/2011 17:20

are you sure they're not just \link{http://www.thelocal.de/national/20110625-35889.html\feeding the rabbits?} Grin
