Would you shop at a childcare store run by a MALE Gruffallo look-a-like?

Found a tiny-weeny retail premises opposite an outdoor play area that's perfect for a very petite independent store promoting pushchairs, car seats, perhaps some books for children and other cool stuff :) Would love to sell some of the products recommended by mumsnetters (is that the appropriate collective noun?) BUT would you feel comfortable buying stuff like that from a 30yo man with an uncanny resemblance to a Gruffalo? Blush

Planning on putting a ballpool and slide in one corner to keep the little ones occupied and have a little area in the opposite corner so the parents and I can discuss requirements over a Brew and maybe a Biscuit .

Please feel free to stamp all over the notion in the name of honesty. extremely enthusiastic about the idea. Selling is something that comes naturally to me without recourse to high pressure tactics etc. Fairly sure i don't come across as creepy (perhaps a little grumpy on a bad day)... So can i interest you in a cup of tea now mums (and dads)? ah go-on!

Have you ever watched the episode of Grand Designs where a man built himself a house in the woods, using mostly natural materials from the woods, it was very basic but fab and then by chance he met a lady and they had a baby. They then showed an update and he had extended the house to accommodate his new family.

Agree with the other poster who said you look like someone famous but can't remember who.

Good luck with your new venture.

wimpybar · 29/06/2011 16:38

he looks like brian blessed in flash gordon

SuePurblybilt · 29/06/2011 16:43

Grin at Brian Blessed.
Twas I Fimbo and it's bugging me. The nearest I can get is that one from the X Factor, if he grew a beard. The one who wore shorts, year before last.

That's my fave Grand Designs. Amazing house.

Grin. It was either squeaky Joe or squeaky Leon. Maybe they both won? Maybe they're the same person? The other young one, Eggnogg, didn't win.

I so badly want to go to that shop Veronica (and the Nudie cafe too now), I am thinking of reasons to justify a drive from Devon to Settle Grin. Maybe for Christmas, I'll start saving now...

it would be extremely difficult to leave this space after the support you lot have so kindly proffered. Besides which there's nowhere better to obtain valuable opinion from such a knowledgeable group of people in an almost instantaneous manner. will have to wait a little while before my report on the house that jack built though. Co-opted close friends DS1 (three) DS2 (two) to act as consultant experts. Took them up to settle where they had fantastic fun. in the meantime she is having some difficulties and i've offered to take care of the two little princes until the dust clears. all i have time to say now is that it was AMAZING and it was hard to leave. Thank's again Veronicacake and thanks once again everyone for everything. should be a day or two before i get time to go back on here and spill all. very much looking forward to it. right must dash, can hear what sounds suspiciously like sibling rivalry. must knock that on the head, pow-pow. have a great weekend everybody! mwah.
