Is this common practice to move threads out of AIBU to chat or other topics or am I going slightly mad?

i still dont know what an IPOAT thread is

worraliberty · 27/06/2011 15:45

Me neither. I read through a bit of it to try to find out, but it was so bloody twee...I decided epilating my fanjo would be less painful Grin

It wasn't, though Hmm

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 27/06/2011 15:56

I don't care if they're moved or not, but I think there should be a proper policy of it - move them all or none of them.

TrilllianAstra · 27/06/2011 16:13

I don't care if MNHQ have moved the thread.

I don't even know what thread you are on about.

But I do care if they moved a thread without telling people.

PuppyMonkey · 27/06/2011 16:21

But if MNHQ is going to randomly move aibu threads, there will be loads of threads in chat or whatever with thread titles that make no sense:

To hate my MIL
To hand my notice in
To have been really miffed on the bus

Etc. Make sense in the aibu topic.

But jUst randomly on chat.Hmm

The system won't be able to cope. I won't be able to cope.

OracleInaCoracle · 27/06/2011 16:42

but hopefully people will catch on and stop just bunging stuff in the wrong forum, AIBU's will be genuine AIBU 's rather than "I'm having a cup of tea, do you like tea?"

worraliberty · 27/06/2011 16:52

I just went to chat for the first time.

I felt a bit lost so came home Blush

Enraha · 27/06/2011 17:09

Chat is a bit of a mixed bag though isn't it and the titles can be bit baffling.

This absolutely wouldn't help the general simplification process at all - but I guess you would need something along the lines 'friendly chat' for the kindly souls and 'snarky chat' or 'feisty banter' for the viper-channellers...

Absolutely not making any judgement and I know where I'd be more inclined to lurk Wink

TrilllianAstra · 27/06/2011 18:25

Chat is SUPPOSED to be a mixed bag - it's for everything that doesn't fit anywhere else

OracleInaCoracle · 27/06/2011 18:28

exactly. its for threads asking what your first record was, or whether you like tea and cake, or come and talk to me threads. not AIBU

allhailtheaubergine · 27/06/2011 18:31

Sometimes when I am feeling grumpy I go to AIBU and answer all the threads that shouldn't be in AIBU with one word YABU or YANBU answers. It calms me, like punching a pillow would.

Hullygully · 27/06/2011 21:00

I never notice what section anything is in - I only look at it if it looks interesting (potentiallY)
