Shes on the Apprentice : You're Fired. She just said this. Maybe Im tight but I dont think this is kind on the pocket at all Hmm

You wish, Myleene

OP posts:
MrsFruitcake · 23/06/2011 07:22

Most Mothercare stuff is quite a bit overpriced for what is average quality IMO. I have never really shopped there for this reason.

MrsFruitcake · 23/06/2011 07:23

Oh and while I'm at it, Myleene, its Breton, not Bretton!

x2boys · 23/06/2011 09:09

i dont think celebrities have any idea of the budgetsof ordinary people she was also introducedasa baby guru always makes me laugh when celebrities have a baby and suddenly think there an expert and start releasing books on childcare etc

pigletmania · 23/06/2011 09:09

Not kind on the pocket at all Myleen, you don't have a clue

stillfrazzled · 23/06/2011 09:26

Myleene Klass is not crazy.

She's a self-promoting, fame-hungry PITA who tells some pretty tall tales in pursuit of publicity.

Or a hard-working guru who's the only working mum to ever have two children. You choose. Grin

That last headline about her bravely facing down the 'Breastapo' when she's bf anyway and no-one actually gives a shit about her made my teeth itch.

mdowdall · 23/06/2011 09:26

Dont know about her clothing range but that Klass is absolute filth.

MrsKwazii · 23/06/2011 09:27

Some of the designs are ok, but the prices are shocking. She obviously has no concept of what the average person can afford.

I would consider buying some of the stuff for older babies at sale prices but they all seem to be emblazoned with 'Baby K' in silver embroidery which is beyond naff. Puts me right off.

stillfrazzled · 23/06/2011 09:59

Also, why dress a baby in black? They've got the rest of their lives to swan round looking funereal, surely babyhood is your chance to dress them in mad clashing primary colours? I think of it as one of the few compensations for the sleep deprivation...

sungirltan · 23/06/2011 20:37

never mind melanie klass - i have just stumbled on the gurgle site - oh heavens its lo's and lol huns a go go!

I am sorry, but Anything the Klass does is NOT OK by me.
Bad lady, bad bad lady

Mahraih · 23/06/2011 21:40

The boys' stuff isn't too bad. I quite like the travel sleeping bags ... though, I'm not sure why a baby would need a travel sleeping bag.

Prices are high, yes. The sale prices are more on the mark.

I think she's ok though. Beautiful face.

Pagwatch · 23/06/2011 21:43

I think the opinions on here about the clothes are as much about people not liking her as anything else.

They look better than most of the shit in next and m&s while gap is formulaic .

It's alright.

nancy75 · 23/06/2011 21:46

i'm not overly shocked at the price, but i don't like any of it and wouldn't have bought it for dd.

TheCrackFox · 23/06/2011 21:50

They are quite expensive but TBh they are a huge improvement on the pleather baby biker's jacket debacle from a couple of years ago.

NorksAreMessy · 23/06/2011 21:52

Mahriah just because she has a beAutful face ( not disputed) does not give her a right to charge extra for baby clothes.

That is a very odd message

Firawla · 23/06/2011 22:09

I don't think the price is much different from the rest of mothercare tbh? I don't like all the items she has but some are nice, and wouldn't really expect to like every single item from someone's range anyway as people have different tastes..

FooffyShmoofferschinhair · 23/06/2011 22:14

Myleene Klass is crazy if she thinks her clothing range is easy on the eye.

2 words - EMO BABIES

Fgs - "trendy babies" yeah cos that's what's vitally important. Hmm

Mahraih · 23/06/2011 22:18

Norksaremessy, I didn't think my message made it sound as if I thought she had the right to charge more because of her looks.I think we both know that would be ridiculous. [sceptical]

Others have been talking about her clothes, and also her as a person (or what they perceive her to be). So did I, except my opinion on her )given that she displays little personality from what I've seen) was about her face. Don't see a problem.

sungirltan · 23/06/2011 22:23

apparently MK is very vacuous. according to a friend who has worked with her.

tbf its personal taste. i look all over for baby clothes and am thrilled if i find something i even like (thats doesnt have peppa pig or sequins!).

i can find some nice things in m&s, gap and very occasionally next.

i guess if what you're looking for is MK then good luck to you :)

NorksAreMessy · 23/06/2011 22:23

mahraih Nor me. But she seems to have made a career out of selling crap just because she is pretty. That's a good trick if you can pull it off. But it is still a trick.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 23/06/2011 22:27

i dont think the stuff is very nice TBH and mothercare, IMO, is generally expensive and not that nice. But each to their own.

Mahraih · 23/06/2011 22:30

Oh, I agree she has no real talents, Norksaremessy! I'm sure she's a lovely woman and fine mother, but she is just a face for companies to paste onto their products.

Actually, I'm idly on her website and apparently she's a classical musician. Ah, or then again, not really ... www.myleeneklass.co.uk/music/

NorksAreMessy · 23/06/2011 22:32

Sad, then, that classical music is valued less highly than the ability to peddle babygrows
:(

2 words - EMO BABIES

How on earth is the emo baby. There is one black item in the whole collection of clothes and that is a sleeping bag.

I have a 13yr old "emo" (bless her) and she was roflpml when I showed her the collection
