Angry

Today I won 2 Eurostar tickets to a festival in Lille. I was overjoyed. I looked at the cost for 2 one week passports for ds and I (the festival is at the start of July), just over £200! Shock

We can't go Sad

I am sorry if you can't go to the festival in Lille. If it is the music one, it is a great pity as the line up is fantastic.
I went to renew my DS' passport today at the French consulat: £14! I made the man repeat as I thought I had misheard... Of course an adult one is more expensive but still is cheaper than a British one. I can't understand such differences in price.

Can't you go to Peterborough and get them done whilst you wait? I'm sure there is a same day service (or there was last year).

belledechocchipcookie · 22/06/2011 22:54

Ds's is a first passport, they won't do same day ones. The best they can do is a 1 week one.

It is the music one. Sad It's shocking that they charge so much for a child's passport, they only last for 5 years.

they last 5 years but IIRC there is a free renewal on that for 5 years

its so the picture still matches iykwim

He's 12 so I doubt he'll look the same once puberty has kicked in properly.

no free renewal after 5 years Mrs Twinks, around £48 for another 5 years!

MrsTwinks · 22/06/2011 23:05

well thats round about half the price of an adult at least. Mine still has my maiden name on it cos they were nuts if they thought I was paying £80 to change my name on a 3 year old passport

hellospoon · 22/06/2011 23:07

Hi belle, I live in peterborough so if I can be of any help just give me a pm!

Maybe u could fax them all the details?

belledechocchipcookie · 22/06/2011 23:18

Getting there isn't a problem, it's the cost. Sad Thank you though hello Smile

my mistake. It used to be because you used to have to pay full adult price.
