To be upset that the OT has written that dd has global developmental delay

.... when she doesn't?

She has difficulties with gross motor skills, and poor co-ordination. She was assessed 6 months ago by the OT. I have only just received the report and recommendations (which also states that they are actually discharging her), and the opening line of the letter says that she has global developmental delay.

She's very bright academically, so I'm confident that this isn't the case. But AIBU to ask that they change the letter and re-send it? I don't want this statement to be on anybody's files.

No, she doesn't have a statement. She's just a bit crap physically.

It's true that I am not au fait with the full details of GDD, but that is because my dd doesn't have it and no-one has ever suggested that she did (aside from this very bizarre cut-and-paste reference in a discharge letter).

If she doesn't even have a statement then it is even more ludicrous and potentially harmful to have it on a letter from OT.

Glad you flagged it up and she amended.

Your response was that your DD could not have GDD because she is clever. Sorry but that is just plain wrong, you have to accept "odd responses" given your lack of understanding . It might be a mistaken comment by the OT but people cannot tell this from your OP which tbh sounded mis-informed as regarding the nature of GDD.

Just ask them to clarify what they mean or take it out. End of.
