WIBU to not leave feedback on ebay because I am being nagged to?

I bought an item off ebay that arrived at DHs work the day I went into labour, so he wasnt there to bring it home. We have all items sent there so there is always someone in to receive them, so as he has had almost 3 weeks off I didnt get the item until yesterday. But twice a week since it was sent I have had reminder emails from the seller saying "please can I have your feed back" and "Further to my numberous other emails, can you please leave feedback" etc. After the first one i emailed back explaining that due to circumstances i may not actually be able to leave feedback for a couple of weeks but would do so as soon as I could, but still the emails kept coming.

Now I dont want to leave fb at all because I really resent being nagged for it, WIBU to not bother? I suppose I could leave neutral along the lines of "good item, good delivery, DONT NAG FOR FB!!!" :o

Ag, just leave them good feedback. You have a newborn, seriously, who gives a shite??

Gah, get a grip woman.

i had a seller like that, so simply left their positive feedback with.. harassed for fb so here it is!

theressomethingaboutmarie · 22/06/2011 08:11

I have just sold a few things on ebay and have my payment held in escrow by Paypal. I'm posting all of my items today and will be gently pushing for feedback as I need the cash earlier than 3 weeks time!

sparkle12mar08 · 22/06/2011 08:14

If you've got time to post here, you've got time to leave feedback!

acumenin · 22/06/2011 08:17

I wouldn't leave feedback in those circumstances and if the harrassment continued I'd leave neutral feedback describing the situation.

It's a weird thing for them to do, too. Normally when I don't leave feedback it's because I had some minor issue with the seller but not enough to pursue a dispute, so it's a seriously bad plan for sellers to do this. I've been irritated into leaving neutrals in this way.

YANBU - being nagged for feedback is the one thing that puts me off levaing feedback.

Meglet · 22/06/2011 08:23

I'd be pee-d off being nagged to do it.

I always leave feedback if buyer pays quickly. I never leave it if they are late posting or paying and don't communicate. I wouldn't nag someone to do it as that's just asking for bad feedback.

Lucyinthepie · 22/06/2011 08:27

I think you were a bit unfair really. They are quite new to EBay so may not understand that not everyone will bother to leave feedback, but if the transaction is OK then why not do so? You said yourself they have one neg, so giving them a positive will improve their rating, plus, they would have been wondering if the parcel had arrived. I'd have left feedback and sent them a message warning them that some EBayers will object to being chased for feedback so it might be worth bearing that in mind in future.
Then, you emailed them to explain why you wouldn't be able to leave feedback... in the time it took to do that you could have just logged into EBay and left the feedback couldn't you?
I have 200+ feedback on EBay and the only time I've chased someone to leave it was when Paypal were holding on to a payment.

porcamiseria · 22/06/2011 09:01

you are out of order, if you have time to email you have time to leave feedback. Its all part of the etquette on ebay

i am a new seller and unless I get feedback I wont get my money, its really important

thegruffalosma · 22/06/2011 09:48

I don't think the OP is out of order - unless she leaves negative or neutral feedback.
If Paypal witholds your money for a while or until feedback is left then it is the chance that you take as a seller that you won't have the money until that period expires. After the buyer had contacted the seller and she had expalined she was post natal and her husband was on paternity leave that should have been that. They should not have been hassling her dh to go into work to collect a package or for them to leave feedback without seeing the item - which is what the seller was doing at that point.

TragicallyHip · 22/06/2011 10:27

Oh I see, I have a 100+ positive feedback so it wouldn't effect me. Still waiting for about 15 people to leave feedback.

They should have told you the reason for needing the feedback.

vmcd28 · 22/06/2011 10:42

Where does the OP say she doesnt have time to leave it? I cant see that anywhere. She said she didnt receive the item for a few weeks, and now doesnt want to leave feedback. Nothing about no time to do it.

Bogey, I wouldnt leave any at all - nagging does my head in on ebay. And it fills your inbox too.

LolaRennt · 22/06/2011 12:54

Why should the OP leave feedback for an item she hadn't received? If she had and only now realised that she was missing something from the box, she'd be pretty buggered wouldn't she?
