Yes. I see your point too. To ignore someone who is deliberately and calculatedly trying to start a fight denies them the pleasure of it. That's a good thing. For a start, it pisses them right off .

But I just get so angry at some of the posts on here, and have to challenge them.
And not necessarily the trolls that come on to start an argument, I agree that they are just there to stir things up.
But some threads are crying out for someone to get in there and tell them their point of view is racist, or anti disabled or anti benefits seekers.
Someone has to argue our corner, and if you can get a benefits seeker rant turned into a thread about goats as a recent example, it can make the poster just look ridiculous.
I think posters on MN use irony and humour brilliantly.

I've never seen a gay bashing thread on here at all! Can't really say I've seen any of the other either! Though I must say that some responses do get very judgy and nasty sometimes, StayFrosty gives the perfect example. I do sometimes wonder if people would dare be as rude and confrontational in RL. I must say though that IME if anyone is particulalry fascist they don't normally get away with it and get back as good as they give...

It's about my family because it is often about my personal situation for reasons that are not our fault.
I cannot stand by and let what they post stand - people might actually believe that kind of posting.
