RaahhfaNadalsMyToyboy · 24/06/2011 21:51

Blimey- bid he just smile??

Ljubicic played a good match. Despite being a bit wrinkly of scalp.

Quick- not even 10pm yet, get nadal back!!

MelinaM · 24/06/2011 21:52

ALLER GASQUET

schroeder · 24/06/2011 21:52

That was too close, it does not bode well for the next round.

He really is too moody!

mcenroe is full of it

MelinaM · 24/06/2011 21:53

Was it just me, or did his head seem to get wrinklier as the match progressed?!!!

Hehe indeedGrin There's still an hour of play left with the roof, that's all Rafa needs!!!

sayanythingRogerjustrogerme · 24/06/2011 21:54

Poo.

MelinaM · 24/06/2011 21:56

Don't fret too much Roger, he's got Gasquet nextGrin

fuckmepinkandCALLmegoran · 24/06/2011 22:01

Stop with the negativity to the SCOT

fuckmepinkandCALLmegoran · 24/06/2011 22:02

Am utterly gutted that Roddick is out.

pointydog · 24/06/2011 22:07

Yaaassssss

sayanythingRogerjustrogerme · 24/06/2011 22:10

So am I Goran.

MelinaM · 24/06/2011 22:15

It's constructive criticismGrin

fuckmepinkandCALLmegoran · 24/06/2011 22:16

I hate when people say "constructive criticism" what they mean is "I'm getting the boot in and dressing it up all nicey nicey so you can't cry over it"

Well NER to you Wink

MelinaM · 24/06/2011 22:20

HeheGrin He is a good player, but as a sportsman he's a disgrace, desperately needs some etiquette lessons from Roger and RafaSmile

AnaLoveRafa · 24/06/2011 22:30

Such a shame about RoddickSad

Can't stand Murray, he definitely needs to learn a lesson or three from Rafa and Roger with regard to his behaviour! Despicable man!

Vamos to Rafa for tomorrowSmile

mrsdonkeybucketVAMOSRAFA · 24/06/2011 22:34

What a bloody match.

I so wanted it to go to 5 sets, I bet andy would have lost if it had. Felt sorry for Ivan, he played well.

Not so bad, can watch Rafa tomorrow. Grin

1st on Ct 1, 1pm.

Hopefully he will only need another 2 sets, then a nice rest before he plays 4th round.

As Mel says : "Allez Gasquet" !

Judging by how he played tonight, he could well lose that one ?

fuckmepinkandCALLmegoran · 24/06/2011 22:39

He could Sad he just wasn't firing on all cylinders. Sad

mrsdonkeybucketVAMOSRAFA · 24/06/2011 22:44

He never does. I do seriously think he could do with some proper fitness training. He looks like he could keel over at any time. Rog and Rafa never look like that.

Rog looked a bit tired to me the other day, but you know that he can also go up a gear or 2, like Rafa. It makes me laugh if Rafa loses the 1st set and everyone starts talking about tiredness etc.....Rafa usually uses the 1st set to 'gauge' his opponent, then lets rip when he really has to. Andy seems to have to push, push, push all the time. Where Rafa and Rog have moved on and progressed with age, Andy hasn't from when he was 1st at Wimbledon. He wont ever catch them now, I don't think, it's too late.

fuckmepinkandCALLmegoran · 24/06/2011 23:11

actually agree

mrsdonkeybucketVAMOSRAFA · 24/06/2011 23:20

I'm really not being mean about him, it's just what I think.

I think it must all come back to the whole competitive sports in schools and all that bollocks.

We need a completely different outlook on ALL sports in this country.

But then, to do that, we would need some talented sports people looking out for the new generations of all sporting arenas, and we just don't have enough emphasis on it. Nooo, we encourage kids to become wife cheaters or 'a singer and a dancer'. I would much rather they scrapped crap like X Factor now, (God, it's been how many years) and maybe have some kind of show that provides our kids with the opportunities to try different sports. And encourage them, coach them, train them to not just settle for trying but to BE THE BEST.

fuckmepinkandCALLmegoran · 24/06/2011 23:23

I got slated, and I mean slated, at sports day for screeching encouraging DD to run faster.

I have an older DS who plays a sport at quite a high level, and he subscribes to the "show me a good loser I'll show you a loser" school of thought - and he gets the DD's pumped up before they go out to do anything like sports day etc. Kill the opposition, you're going out to win all this crap the teachers tell you about taking part is rubbish you have to go all out to win or there's no point stepping up to the start line etc etc

There needs to be more of that sort of attitude, once sport gets to any kind of serious level (not junior sports day lol)

mrsdonkeybucketVAMOSRAFA · 24/06/2011 23:33

Exactly. Completely agree.

In it to win it. Or don't bother.

mrsdonkeybucketVAMOSRAFA · 24/06/2011 23:35

It fucking amazes me that there are girls out there that actually aspire to become a wife of a footballer, as if it's a real option.

And other unrealistic aims, that will leave them set up for life, or lead to becoming world famous.

Namby pamby education, was I think what Tony Blair meant. And Dickhead Gove isn't much better.

Makes me v. Angry

MelinaM · 24/06/2011 23:40

Can't wait for Rafa's return tomorrowSmile ...lets hope it's not bloody raining!!!

Ahh yes, certainly looking forward to Murray's next match!!!Grin

MelinaM · 24/06/2011 23:43

Yes it's a very sad state of affairs, I'm so fed up of this 'celebrity obsessed' culture that is so prevalent today! Most of these so called 'celebrities' are famous for what exactly??? ...having a quick romp with a footballer or winning BGT!!!!
