I watched RAFA. OMG he was good. How crap was the other player I've forgotten his name now.

Ok, whilst googling scruffy players from days of yore, I remembered how much i really wanted to be Gabriela sabatini- she was so glam and exotic and only a couple of years older than me. As I was a dumpy teenager, she was exactly what i wanted to look like and not a bad player either. She was always much smilier than Steffi, at the time.

So, which ladies player would you like to be?

I thought Arantxa Sanchez was the bee's knees. So scrappy and feisty, like a little terrier. But Steffi was my heroine, always was, always will be

Anyone watching Robson? Her forehead is really pretty good. Remember when she asked Marat Safin to the winners' ball when she was 14? He was very sweet about it, but obviously had to say no!

I was very jealous of her meeting Safin [sad cow]. I hope she does well- we always seem to have youngsters who are good juniors, and then cannot progress.

I loved Aranxta- because she was little (for a tennis player). as well as being dumpy, I am only 4 ft 8- so for a brief moment in 1989, during the French Open, the shorties ruled- Aranxta, and Michael Chang (though he beat Edberg).

I like Lynsey Davenport- she played the match i saw when i got to go to Wimbledon- (way back in 1994). She lost to eventual winner Conchita martinez- but it was a cool match.
