That's it really. Got up, did a few bits of cleaning but have now stopped to watch the build up.

I am actually dressed today (though haven't been for long)- very tiring night with teething dd2, - therefore i feel totally justified in spending the day watching tv again as usual .

Need to take a peek at the order of play- which is probably a bit buggered already after all the rain yesterday!Grin

We need a Wimbledon emoticon- like a wee green and purple brolly, or a strawberry...jammy dodgers and brews are just not Tennis, dontcha know...

fuckmepinkandCALLmegoran · 21/06/2011 10:59

Heading off to get my hair done - I can't decide if I'm brave enough to change the colour..... I'll miss all the excitement today Sad

NO I was dressed but the bastard hairdresser is off sick so I'm back. Ah well Wimbledon beckons Grin

MyFace · 21/06/2011 11:42

Just watching 125 years of Wimbledon.

I am a rafa fan. I read a tweet on BBC sport website that is describing djokovic as 'a piston powered metronome' should Rafa be scared?

fuckmepinkandCALLmegoran · 21/06/2011 11:44

I always thought Djokovic would be "piston powered"

MyFace · 21/06/2011 11:56

Grin piston powered or not we shall see Ds is a djokovic fan and I'm with Rafa it causes a lot of strife, but I'm the smug one at the end of the day.

fuckmepinkandCALLmegoran · 21/06/2011 12:29

Tracy Austins voice would cut tin

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 21/06/2011 12:30

YES! Mumsnet bosses, please can we have Wimbledon emoticons? Glass or jug of Pimms and a strawberry?

Hi again mrsdonkeybucketVAMOSRAFA! (cripes that takes a while to type).
Isn't it a pity that Rafa looks so ripped and cool on court, and then spoils it in 'RL' by wearing pastel polo shirts and having bad fluffy Euromullet hair? Someone should dress him properly off court. He could look HOT.

MyFace · 21/06/2011 13:31

LadyClarice who's looking at clothes? Grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 21/06/2011 13:41

Clothes maketh the man! Or they certainly contribute to one's opinion of him and his hotness.

All I'm saying is that, after he's been looking so good on court, it's a pity to discover that he appears to choose to dress like a young Cliff Richard. And cultivate terrible hair.

fuckmepinkandCALLmegoran · 21/06/2011 13:44

His hair and Murray's hair are terrible.

MyFace · 21/06/2011 13:56

I agree about the hair but think about the body. That's not something you come across everyday.

MyFace · 21/06/2011 13:58

Serena hurry up already, we want to see some flair on centre. Feds better do good I want excitement.

addressbook · 21/06/2011 14:01

oooo I used to have a major crush on Goran when I was a teenager! How old is he now then - surely not old?!

That year he won Wimbledon was fabulous!

I love Andy Murray, especially as I live in Dunblane. He is a bit young for me but I do like that surly, rugged look. I don't like pretty boys. He obviously has a soft side as well e.g. when he wept after losing to Federar in Australian open

Does anyone else think Federar must have a major skeleton in his closet. I mean no one is that composed and perfect are they?

Here is Roddick playing. I am neglecting my poor 5 year old while my toddler naps to watch it!

fuckmepinkandCALLmegoran · 21/06/2011 14:04

Roddick is nice. I like Roddick.

But Goran I really think he'd be filthy in bed. He was born in 1971 so he's 40-ish

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 21/06/2011 14:21

I'm not keen on Roddick.

Puffs his cheeks out funny, fiddles with his clothes.

And has a mail-order bride.

Having said that, he can be funny and dry and is gracious in defeat.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 21/06/2011 14:27

Oh, meant to say a propos Rafa's body:

Yes, it's impressive, but personally I don't really go for the massively ripped look. I prefer a lanky rangy type like Murray or, outside the world of tennis, Paul Bettany.

I agree though, a good body makes up for a lot of things. But I just think if Rafa had nice hair and dressed well, he could be SPECTACULAR.

FoundWanting · 21/06/2011 14:32

I want to be Serena. She is so talented. And strong. And charming. And gracious. Envy

The men haven't really done it for me since Ilie Nastase.

I am very, very old.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 21/06/2011 15:07

V good match between Serena and Aravane Rezai. Rezai was brilliant at times; pity she couldn't sustain it. It was rather emotional seeing Serena get so teary about being through. It obviously means a lot to her this year.

Ariesgirl · 21/06/2011 15:36

What have I missed, what have I missed?

FoundWanting, Serena's charm and graciousness have never struck me particularly before Grin. Her grit, talent, strength, determination and skill maybe. I've always been a huge admirer of Venus - I think she's so graceful and elegant, though does choose some regrettable outfits. But I think I "got" Serena for the first time when she won Wimbers last year - she really is an absolutely amazing sportswoman.

FoundWanting · 21/06/2011 15:58

Ariesgirl I think that Venus is more comfortable with the media than her sister and so we get more chances to hear her speak. Serena is much more low-key (not that Venus is pushy), but they are both always so generous when speaking about their opponents whether they win or lose.

I missed the end of the match because of the school run. I'm glad she got though.

snowbiz · 21/06/2011 16:04

Finally, access to the tennis and the laptop. Its going to be all about the tennis, I don't recall anyone lusting after Rog and sadly his opponent is fairly nondescript. Pleased to see Baltacha doing well.

snowbiz · 21/06/2011 16:06

Although it suddenly occurs to me that maybe Roger is concealing something. He may have hidden depths!

snowbiz · 21/06/2011 16:07

There's Wally. Did you just see him in the crowd. Brilliant
