Or is the Dettol touchless soap pump the most useless invention ever?

Why do you need to worry about touching the soap pump? The first thing you do after touching it is wash your hands!

We love ours! DH bought one last week and the boys love the smell of the soap and wash their hands every time they use the loo now.

It is shit because it always goes off even if you accidentally brush past it

Ladyflumpalot - I am totally with you on that. So with you that about 6 months ago I actually emailed the company advising them of the stupidity fo their product.

I gopt a response thanking me for taking the time to contact me but basically ( idiot - me saying not them) consumers like it so it shall remain..........

Have not seen the Dettol ad but MIL had one of these (not Dettol but some Canadian / North American brand) last summer when we were visiting and DD2 was completely obsessed with it. The child washed her hands about 85 times a day. She liked it so much that MIL went out and bought her her very own automatic soap dispenser and 3 or 4 refills. DD2 is only 5 and I am already watching her carefully for OCD tendencies..... I don't know any other 5 year olds that have their very own soap dispensers.....

My son has his own hand alcohol dispensers...:) 1 in the bathroom and one in the bedroom ( he uses a potty chair at night due to urinary issues)...
