Calm down Cameron deserved the kicking he got. (The commentators said he was not even briefed on the subject.)

If Cam cant take cuts to cancer patients benefitsseriously; then what kind of human being is he? I think we are gradually smoking out the toff marauder of politics.
Good salesman, heart in the wrong place, wont have the operation. RIP David Cameron

Well said alice!

I feel the deficit/ debt has become a tool in the same way George Bush and Rudy Giuliani used 9/11 to sail to victory in election times across the pond.

Cameron already agreed with Clegg to throw Lansley and his NHS reforms to the wolves if the AV Referendum was a 'No' result. Cameron may have been badly briefed (or not at all) on cancer patients, and it may have been horrible to watch, but in effect it's actually one more reason he'll be able to use to ditch Lansley.

Vince Cable will now be looking for a U-turn on Cameron's stance on tuition fees. They'll call it a 'review' and produce a fair-ish graduate tax. Mark my words....

onclefestere · 16/06/2011 16:40

Oh good heavens. It's an interesting time to work in HE, that's all I can say.

David Cameron has proven himself to be horrible, and a massive wanker. He knows that he doesn't have a clue what it's like to not live with a wallet or a pocket full of money, yet he goes and kicks them down anyway.

Cancer patients don't want to be spending their time worrying about benefits. They want to get better, to rest and to enjoy life. (Perhaps whilst they still can?)

Why doesn't he get vodafone and all the companies that don't pay the tax they should to do so? He bloody loses more money from that than the tiny percentage of those who claim benefits fradulently.

This clip tells you all you need to know about call me Dave

Glitterknickaz · 17/06/2011 11:25

I had nothing but contempt for the man before over the disability issue but now he just makes me want to vomit.

Cancer patients cannot just magically recover to suit bloody guidelines!!! He doesn't have a clue on many issues concerned with proposed government policy and he doesn't want to listen either when he's told. I'm so glad Milliband ripped him a new one on this.

I'm not confident on Milliband winning at an election tbh which makes the prospect of this man being PM for the forseeable, and that's frightening.

wordfactory · 17/06/2011 11:30

David Cameron always seems to me to be one of those people who isn't preapred to put in the graft. He expects to be brifed enough and quickly enough to get by on natural chutzpah...must do better.

That said, please let him not call an election soon as I fear he will win outright. Ed Milliband is just too unpoular even in the party.

Glitterknickaz · 17/06/2011 11:36

To watch him sitting there frantically looking through the stats (because he hadn't actually read them properly) after Milliband's confrontation... he doesn't know, he doesn't WANT to know and he doesn't care.

He absolutely knows of the heartbreak of losing a child with serious disabilities and for that he has my sympathies. But he has zero knowledge of having to eke out an existence on disability and carer benefits when there is no other way to get the money coming in.

He knows nothing of being told you are seriously ill with a condition that could become life limiting like cancer - a condition where stress is a major factor in recovery - and yet still supports cuts that could harm thousands of people. Same could be said of Milliband but at least he cared enough to be educated by Macmillan.

Glitterknickaz · 17/06/2011 11:37

... and as for the eking out comment previous he has been TOLD what it is like and chooses not to listen.

onclefestere · 17/06/2011 11:38

he doesn't actually CARE what it is like. I am convinced of this. Does NOT CARE.

headfairy · 17/06/2011 11:45

I think whether Cameron wins the next election depends on who wins the power struggle between Osborne and Steve Hilton. Osborne wants to slow the pace of change which I think might be more palatable to the public, Hilton wants everything done and dusted by 2015 which might be hard for the public to stomach judging by the reaction to the NHS reforms.
