To be slightly irritated that DP has gotten a humoungous telly?

Its taking over the living room, its huge - now our living room isnt that small and its in an alcove but its whole presence has taken over the room and i hate it already. Its 32" and DP is like a kid with a new toy - it was a freebie as his friend was dumping it in favour or a 50" flatscreener. Just makes me wonder why anyone would want a massive bloody screen in their living room. We had a 22" tv that was perfectly fine and i didnt feel like the whole room centred around the TV, but honeslty, im looking at it now and DP is watching some sort of sporting even, and I feel like the people are in my front room Hmm

I know im BU because it was free, but i liked my little tele.

but its MASSIVE!! Not complaining really, but we already had a perfectly good telly - DPs friend was just happy he didn't to lug it to the dump himself - it was so heavy i nearly gave myself a hernia helping DP in with it andi a strong old bint

32" is not that big...just looks it because you had a tiny 22" tv. yabu you will get used to it....

M0naLisa · 12/06/2011 21:13

We used to have a 32" and loved it, then we got a 46" and loved it even more was HD but then as we have both done DROs with CAB had to get rid of it back to the company and DHs dad gave us a 26" and wasn't keen at the time but as the 46" was a buy as you view tv and couldn't afford to watch it my auntie gave us a 20" and that was small - I love our 26" now

Its not that big but I understand your annoyance.

I hate big tellies. I was trying to find a little one for my room and the smallest was 19".

My OH would love a massive tv but put my foot down. We have quite a big one that we were given and I do like that fact its flat - takes up less room than the old one.

My OH keeps pleading bad eyesight but our front room is only little so that dont wash with me

32" is not big at all, let alone humungous.

ziptoes · 12/06/2011 21:33

YABU.....

To be slightly "irritated" - I'd be furious!

It's your house too.

eurochick · 12/06/2011 21:33

YABU. 32" is not that big. And it was free. Enjoy it!

newlow · 12/06/2011 21:37

Let's see, men and TVs... Measured in inches, bigger is better, constantly comparing sizes. Says it all really, doesn't it?

Firawla · 12/06/2011 22:13

I said it's his house TOO not 'its his house', if its both your house then you have to compromise on some things, surely would be unfair for you to say lets just keep the small tv even if he is not happy with it, does he moan so much when you get things in the house that he does not like??

passivelyaggresive · 12/06/2011 22:19

he wouldnt DARE! i did however miss the too, i apologise
